Charles Calomiris from Columbia, on Bloomberg, said that Obama is the most far left President we
have had in years, and if summer goes, this is an opportunity for Obama to make amends with the "business" community, who, as he "characterizes", has been at war with them

Yesterday on Bloomberg, they had someone named Alan Metzler who slammed the Obama administration for not getting rid of ALL regulation, professing that would pull us out of the "downturn"

For over a year this is the kind of nonsense that has been spewing not only from the financial networks, but also from the MSM. In fact, a great deal of it borders on extreme dislike to hate talk, which really perplexes me since the corporate media NEVER viewed the bush administration this way.

It is ironic when I come to this forum, some have the view that the Obama administration is no "different" than bush

1. the financialists and banksters 'anger' with the obama admin is phoney.
they didn't want to be 'vilified' -- how were they vilified?

in what concrete ways did the obama admin do anything to hurt their 'feelings'?

corporations will always play both political parties like a musical instrument.

they fiddled with one -- now they're fiddling with the other.

in the end -- we keep inviting them to the table to write their own rules, hire them to run our public agencies, etc.

2. It's the re-framing and demonization of what it means to be "left" and "far left,"
just as was done with "liberal," and is currently being done with "progressive."

Political terms lose their accuracy when they are adopted into propaganda and twisted to mean something different than they are.

Obama is no more "left" than any other neoliberal.

8. Yes. It benefits him to portray Obama as "far left," regardless of reality. nt

4. That's more of a sad commentary on how far right the Democratic party leadership has gone,
Rather than any sort of reflection how far left Obama actually is.

If you take a look at Eisenhower's platform and record, you'll find it is further to the left than Obama's. My how times have changed.
