While much of it is still in the research phase, there are indications that some of this is in use in the field, killing people right now.

3. this will be an unpopular opinion

but if we'd just assassinated Saddam instead of invading, hundreds of thousands of people would be alive if not a million or more, our economy might not be in nearly the shambles it is, and things overall would be better. Not that I advocate it per se or think attacking Iraq was a good thing, but it's preferable to the alternative.
