Democrats fighting election battles ask environmentalists, 'Where are you guys?'
Source: LA Times

Environmentalists who provided money, zeal and manpower to Democrats in 2008 are demoralized this campaign cycle, further fraying the coalition that sent Barack Obama to the White House and gave the party majorities in both houses of Congress.

Meanwhile, energy and business interests have ramped up spending by tens of millions of dollars, hoping in part to halt climate change legislation promised by Obama but stalled in the Senate.

Key donors, citing the fate of the global warming legislation, are not contributing as much money as they did in 2008. "One of them said, 'I thought our side won the last election, and it doesn't seem to make any difference,' " said Rodger Schlickeisen, president and chief executive of the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.

1. I think the idea is that big business is spending money
to stop any hope of passing this legislation while the enviro donors aren't spending any money because they feel nothing's being done

3. Where's the cap-and-trade bill?
Reid dug his own grave by not calling it for a vote. He's protecting the coal-friendly members of his own caucus from having to go on record voting either way.
The Senate is endangering the country by not taking action on the urgent crisis of our time and they expect enthusiastic support after that? :eyes:

... along with all of the other victims of two-faced career politicians.

Remember them Pelosi? The people who dared to hold out hope for the future?
The ones you and your crew have been pissing on all these years?

:grr:

7. They are all probably still cleaning up oil drilling messes all over the place
on our coasts. If only they weren't so busy cleaning up messes that should not have been allowed to happen in the first place.

That bump the Obamamobile felt in the road was another bunch of progressives and the Earth getting pummeled.

C'est la vie!
