Ok so my question would be.... Why?
I'm not supposed to feel insulted. I'm not supposed to feel mocked. I'm just supposed to "enjoy the little joke".

Ok then tell me... WHY? Why after 2 previous "little jokes" that didn't go over so well, did Obama choose to make a third himself? I mean look at it from my perspective, Rahm called me a name I can't even reprint on DU without my post getting deleted and yet, I shouldn't feel insulted or mocked because it was just a "little joke" or it "wasn't meant for me". Yeah whatever.

Now for a third time in as many months the Obama administration "jokes" about the people who disagree with them. So tell me why. Why? Are they trying to bring people to their side using "humor"?

I don't understand the point. I don't get why Democrats would continue to do this. It serves no purpose, it helps nothing, if anything it further alienates people who already feel like they don't count for shit. So why do it?

The only answer I can come up with is arrogance. Which is why I can't bring myself to see this as a joke. The level of arrogance shown repeatedly by demeaning the values and ideas of people further to the left than this center-right administration is uncalled for. It's a cheap Republican tactic, and it's beneath us.

1. you can have humor without laughing at people.

You do not have to laugh at someone to have humor, you can laugh with them.

Without comment on his comments, people see my posts differently then I do many times also.

I firmly believe in Ron Howard's brothers style of acceptance of his lifetime achievement award.

And how many people know his name?

2. I guess it is arrogance
and then you hear Biden on Rachel the other night begging the base to get out there and work this cycle. Candidates are having real trouble getting any volunteers this time, here anyway. Do they really wonder why? Insulting the base is not the way to get them out there and it isn't happening. I'm only working for state offices this time around.

3. Why not? (Just kidding--couldn't pass up a chance to riff on RFK) :)
This flap seems to me like both sides are making a mountain out of a molehill. It doesn't even matter whose interpretation is right--it has little relevance to the election issues now on our plate.

As for me, I'm going to try to make the One Nation march in D.C. October 2 and work for candidates in my state (maybe with some phone-banking for candidates in other states).

I'm sorry, but some of the infighting, to me, is only irrelevant distraction.

5. LMAO.. at least 10 unrecs yet not a single one could explain
how wrong I am..   Cowards. If you enjoy these shots at fellow Democrats then at least have the courage to admit that there is no real reason, that you just like seeing people "put in their place"...

Well back to work for me. Hate to post and run but the road is a busy place...

10. He uses humor do deal with his frustration because the left never stops harping
Like it or not he's a Centrists. He's opened the door for some future major reform which hopefully we'll do something about. He isn't the first to promise too much before getting elected and he won't be the last. The Presidency has had only 44 men in that job so it's not like one can go to school to learn how to be President. They all change once they're in office and that should tell us that the job is much harder than everyone thinks.

And unfortunately a lot of the noise coming from the left sounds like whining and temper tantrums. Obama has been taking it on the chin since the beginning and not just from the Party of No. Liberals have been complaining from the beginning, not that our complaints don't have merit, but I can understand how the Obama administration might be quite frustrated.

I for one am very hopeful that Obama sees the importance of Progressive ideas with his appointment of Elizabeth Warren who will have direct access to him. I think she will do us proud and I know she'll have problems with the Centrists, but I have faith in her abilities to weather anything they throw at her.

11. Arrogance is as good an explanation as any

The left is the group which is best able to see past all the BS. That is why both political parties scapegoat the left.

16. $60K is chump change to these folks..
Walking around money.

And there is no investment you can make that pays as big a return as buying a politician, that's why so many of the truly rich are rushing to make their purchases.
