A thought on admin members' snide remarks on lefties

Something that just occurred to me... maybe the fact that so many people feel offended about these remarks (retarded, professional left, where's the world peace, etc.) has a little something to do with context. Maybe it's like this notion (in some cases true, in some cases very false, I am aware of this fact) that black people don't get offended when another black person says the n word or gay people don't get offended when another gay person says the f word. Maybe we'd be just fine with Obama and members of his administration making cracks and taking shots at leftists, liberals, progressives, if we felt like they were on our side to begin with.

Or maybe us libs are just gettin' our panties in a bunch again. You know how we are.

Please don't use the royal "we" when referring to liberals. When you say things such as "maybe us libs are just gettin' our panties in a bunch again. You know how we are." you're not speaking as a liberal.

The administration is making a calculated play to prove it is not liberal, and doing so by attacking liberals. I think that approach is (1) doomed to failure, and (2) offensive to liberals.

I've been a liberal for forty years, so I think I know the liberal mind on issues such as this.
