Something I don't hear on the MSM
Now for the last couple of months, at least, I have heard over and over how the republicans are going to "sweep" the elections in November, how the right is "motivated" to get out and vote, and how democrats are just going to stay home.

Now I will agree the tea baggers are all worked up and "motivated", we can all see that from the number of tea bagger candidates that have one "republican" primaries. I will also admit that the democrats need to get some "motivation" going for those on the left so we can get everyone out to vote. Now the problem I see is that there are a "LOT" of republicans that are "NOT" really motivated by the tea party candidates. Hell even Karl Rove is not happy and voiced that when the tea party candidate won Delaware last night, and there have been other neocon republicans who are not happy also. So what about all those mainstream republicans that think the tea party gang is way out there, and not happy with them winning nominations in the republican primaries? Will they go ahead and vote for the "crazy" people who have won, or will they get depressed and just stay home and not vote?

I know republicans in 2008 who couldn't stand McCain and didn't vote, they stayed home. I know others who were going to "hold their nose" and vote for McCain even though they didn't like him, "UNTIL" he picked Palin! After hearing her, seeing her play the crowds, work them up, and let them threaten Obama while she said nothing, many changed their mind and did NOT vote! I think this could be a factor that is not being looked at. Some of these tea party candidates, most of the actually, are so far out there they scare even the likes of Karl Rove, and that should mean something!

I think if we can get out the vote, democrats will surprise the country, and if a whole lot of republicans decide that they just can not bring themselves to vote for someone who is really crazy, and who is trying to take away SS, medicare, etc. it could be a bigger upset than I think it could be.

The tea party is all worked up, but that won't win elections for the republicans, and as I read in another thread things may get even worse between the tea party groups and the republican party before this is all over. Will the republicans throw their full support behind Christine O'Donnell? Will the tea party voters even vote for a "main stream" republican candidate, or will they try and do write in votes for their own candidate? Will an all our feud in the republican party destroy any chance of winning back either house, and maybe cause them to see actual gains for the democrats?

I think it is going to be very interesting between now and election day!

5. Yes it bothers me also
But as I saw on Rachel tonight actual turnout for both parties in the primaries is way down. Yes, the tea party groups are motivated and getting out to vote, but average republicans are not. Average republicans who are not liking what they see from the tea party groups could be upset enough they not only stay home during the primaries, but in the general election also. True democrats have been even worse, but as the VP said on Rachel, most people don't really get involved in the elections till October. I also think that president Obama and the democrats will start trying harder to rally the base, and if they go ahead and take on the republicans with the tax cut issue, it will help a lot. Also if they get through the bill next week with DADT in it, that too is going to do a lot to get people motivated. As the VP said, all a voter has to do is look at the choices they have. Even those who don't think the democrats have done "enough", have to admit that if the republicans regain power, NOTHING at all will get done! Also a voter has to realize that going back to the "BUSH" days as some republicans in congress say they "WILL" do, is a terrible idea, and one that got us into this mess!

Myself I think republicans are going to get even more divided between now and election day. I think the tea party gang may not even vote for the main stream republican candidate, and may even write in their own candidates, and that would pretty much be a win for democrats!

9. Hope you are Right
But I will keep pushing, to get out the vote..
I love this country too much to let these crazies get control..
I am sure a lot that are following this actors.... are caught up in the moment..

I have been in politics for some time... when candidates such as the ones the Tea party are offering up.. always have these Pie in the Sky ideas, but no ladder to get their ass there..
They fall prey to the corruption.. Then get what they can get and get out...
Which leave a lot of good people disappointed and then those supporters give up... and go negative.

2. If only we had vote by mail, getting out the vote would not be a problem.

We can use Oregon as a guage. With all the talk about how energized Republicans are and how demoralized Democrats are, Republicans should win every race. I believe Oregon will stay Democratic and not by just a little either..We sweat about getting out the vote every single election and IMO it is just plain dumb. People should be able to vote at their kitchen table and not have to worry about finding a parking spot or running into that person you have been avoiding..Oregon has been doing it now for well over a decade and they love it. Conservatives, Liberals, and everyone..We need to wake up and get with the program..

4. Same here, in fact it's encouraged as the preferred way to vote. Our voting
starts something like 2 weeks before the election.

7. I am in Washington state
38 of Washington's 39 counties vote by mail. Only Pierce County still maintains poll sites. I think this will insure that we keep our democrat in the senate who is running, Murray! I love it, and I was doing it even before my county started using by mail voting. I hope more states start doing this also.

I really think that the President, VP, and the party will be doing all they can to motivate voters, and as the VP said on Rachel tonight, when the voter thinks about the choices it won't be hard to see that going back to the Bush days, the policies that got us where we are today, is not what we need to do, and not what the majority of voters want! I also think that with all the really radical tea party candidates running, this too will make democrats, independents, and even moderate republicans stop and think about what it would be like if these crazy people got into office!

6. Teabaggers are two-time Bush and one time McCain/Palin voters who don't want to admit it
When they get into the voting booth they will be voting for GOP candidates this November no matter what. They might say something different but like most Republicans they lie all the time.

8. Most will
But I think there are a lot of tea party people who have gone off the deep end, and with the division going on in the republican party right now, and I think it will get worse before election day, some of them may resort to writ ins instead of voting for either of the other two parties! What I wonder about are the ones who don't like the tea party groups taking over "their" republican party, and like Karl Rove, I think many of them may get mad enough they just might stay home, they haven't really been coming out in the primaries, except for the tea party groups!
