All the muslin experts telling me Cordoba means "conquest"
And by expert I mean every moran calling every right-wing talk show sharing their scholarship with everyone.

Was Ricardo Montalban spitting in America's face? Rubbing our nose in it?

14. For what it's worth
According to Wiki, Cordoba is originally Carthaginian, Kartuba, the city of Juba, a Carthaginian general. If correct, the name predates Islam by centuries.

7. It's open to interpretation - obviously the Intepretation Imam Rauf
favors is the pointing to Corodoba where Jews, Christians and Muslims lived together peacefully and productively. It was under Muslim rule however; and that's the part the right wing and their ilk are focusing on.

I'll never forget the car's graceful lines, or the feel of that fine Corinthian leather.

RIP Ricardo Montalban. You were one of the best.

10. Sharia Law requires the sacrifice of rich Corinthian leather.
From Wikipedia: The first historical mention of a settlement dates however to the Carthaginian expansion across the Guadalquivir, when the general Amilcar Barca baptized it Kartuba, from Kart-Juba, meaning "the City of Juba", the latter being a Numidian commander who had died in a battle nearby.

12. Those were actually pretty nice cars
I bought one in '84, beautiful car but it had blown a radiator hose and the owner kept driving it until the engine burned up. It had the 400 "b" big block in it so the 383 Magnum out of a wrecked Super Bee I found at the salvage dropped in and bolted right up with little problem as I recall

15. Cordoba means "City of Juba" in Carthaginian.
Juba was a Carthaginian commander who died in a battle on the site of the current city, and the name predates Islam by nearly a thousand years.
