49. Stop voting for politicians who favor corporate profits over human beings. Add this to
legal reforms, of course.

It's not some huge, complex problem. We have corporate corruption because we tolerate it when we vote.

56. We can start by asking pointed questions, force people to commit.
Should we support politicians who are significantly influenced by corporate money?

Funny how much effort goes into just avoiding basic questions.

41. Pass full public funding for all elections
Shorten the election cycle to 6 weeks.
Require all media to provide free forums to ALL candidates or NO candidate such as debates. No more picking and choosing.
Require full immediate public disclosure of all non public funding BEFORE any of those funds can be used for media or other expenses for campaigning. Pass laws making it a class A federal felony to break any of the preceding and then fully fund an entire office of FBI agents to track and arrest those who break said laws including churches, companies, etc.

The only way to get power back from the rich will be to pry it forcefully from their hands. If we need to bust some heads, break some knees or worse, then so be it.

55. If we could get Congress to do that, we could get Congress to do everything right.
Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 11:51 AM by valerief
The problem is getting Congress to do what's right, not knowing what's the right thing to do. Even with voter turnout supporting progressive candidates, there's always electronic vote-flipping at the polls.

BTW, I think the only way change will occur is with violence, too.

23. I will add underemployment to your unemployment
16 percent of Americans are underemployed, meaning that instead of the nice full time jobs they once had, now they make do holding one or more part time jobs, or working as temps, making thousands of dollars less than what they used to.
