Ideophobia is the fear of ideas or reason
Could this describe the tea baggers? They don't seem to be able to reason, but will react to emotional arguments like what you see from beck. Most of the rabid right I know do not read, they watch TV or listen to AM radio.

They think my reading is weird, and on several occasions have advised me to stop reading so much. Maybe anti intellectualism is rooted in ideophobia.

3. Armed, trained, and ignorant. What a scary combination
Something tells me that being willfully ignorant doesn't stop them for firmly holding views about complex issues.
