Witness: "Restoring Boehner" rally was NOT political
here's a first-hand account from some random lady:

It was like people were camping out for a concert. Blankets, coolers, lawn chairs, reading by flashlight. People had staked out their spaces 10 hours before an event. They weren’t there for Lady Gaga or Madonna. They were there for political rock stars Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin and Saturday’s Restoring Honor Rally in Washington, D.C.

The Restoring Honor Rally was not political, but there was a general frustration over the current Congress and the Obama administration among the crowd and myself, especially with the continuing expansion of government, rising unemployment and ballooning debt. The rally was also not about Beck, Palin, Republicans, Democrats, or the Tea Party. This rally was about Honor. Period. Honor to our troops and veterans. Honor to our freedoms. Honor to God. Honor to the Constitution. Honor for our country.

Going to the Restoring Honor Event was a fantastic decision. I wanted to be part of a rally where I could stand among others who believe that America is the greatest nation on Earth, no apologies. I want children to live the lives they want without being a slave to the government or the federal debt.

I would say most of the crowd believed in God, and we prayed for those who served and are serving our country. A special mention to those who served in the Vietnam War brought applause and, as a daughter of a Marine who almost died fighting in Vietnam, it was especially touching.

It was about turning back to God who gives us our rights, not the government. Our Declaration of Independence says, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Part of the Restoring Honor event was renewing faith in God or risk losing our liberties. < / bagger >

She obviously never learned that liberty is OURS and that WE set the rules by which we are governed through the democratic process (i.e. voting for gov't officials). If we have issue with something we are free to vote differently. "Faith in god" is immaterial to the democratic process and our liberties. I am an Atheist, and am entitled to freedom and participation in our electoral process as any of the 'baggers.

Of course the gov't is taking our liberties through such means as the PATRIOT ACT, laws like SB1070, etc... but a vote for John Boehener or Michele Bachmann isn't going to do much to "take back" those liberties, LOL.

When there are so many who can't or won't think past the length of their holier than thou noses, or would permit themselves be led around by it?

Jesle is a simpleton, IMO, who has a religiously narrowed view of a complex world.

6. K&R #1, non-political. Here's the e-mail I sent BecKKK, O'LOOFAH & BAIER
1- *ALL* that BECK (and Balin'PALIN) are KNOWN for is their execrable wingnut POLITICS. For THOSE two to claim that their fiesta was NOT political is absurd. Fancy pundits would use the word "disingenuous." I call it excrement. They are two of the handful of MOST divisive people in this country's politics. Nothing they do can be non-political. And what followers they have ARE their followers just because of their politics.

2- The assorted T-Baggers who showed up did so BECAUSE they were EXPECTING their usual Wingnut crap. It wasn't the "charitable" fund-drive, NOT the pissy sermons, NOT the tinpot history wannabe-lectures----none of the above that those people showed up for. If they heard earlier that it was going to be "non-political," they discounted it because they are USED to the wink-wink thing of their entire self-deceit. If BECK had the guts, one WORD from him would have set those Wingnut T-Baggers on a rampage, trampling every one those minority tokens on the stage and on to pillaging the White House and Capitol.

3- The C-SPAN apolitical cameras showed the 'Bagger bearded dudes in ballcaps STARING DOWN AT THEIR FEET at the goings-on onstage. This WASN'T what they came for. Besides the bearded lanky ones, the old-OLD other White people stared stonily ahead. They all were disappointed, but more than this, embarrassed and shamed at their having been instructed NOT to show their true selves to the country. They felt diminished, not-good-enough, yes, INFERIOR.

And that's the truth.
