I guess I'm not surprised that Free Republic is overrun with bigots.....but sometimes.....
..... I'm taken aback by how unabashed they are about it, and that it's allowed to go unchecked.....

Witness these responses in a Ken Mehlman thread:

To: DesertRenegade

He was no help at all. This is why things are worse now than before. We did not change anything.

I will make this succinct:

There is no such thing as a Conservative Sodomite. The two are mutually exclusive for the following single and clear reason.

Conservatives support Limited Self Government.

Limited Self Government is result of Self Control and Self Limits.

Gays. Faggots. Queers. Homosexuals. Sodomites. Are those persons who are lacking the ability to control their lusts.

They lack self limiting, self control.

They lack the very prerequisite for self government.

Our Constitution was written for a moral people and it is totally unsuited to govern any other type of people.

Thus, those lacking self control in their lusts cannot exercise self government, and are therefore NOT Conservative.

They are liars, frauds, simulacrums, impostors, pretenders, fakes, deceivers.

We must in no means, for no reason ally ourselves with them, for it will be the very cause of our undoing.

Ken Mehlman is now an admitted sodomite, is it any wonder the total failure of his leadership on conservative issues?

There is no such thing as a Conservative Sodomite. The two are mutually exclusive. Shame and shun them.

No surprise to me. I knew Melhman was limp-wristed just by looking at him.

I gave a substantial amount of money to the RNC during those years 2005-2007 so it really angers me that this scum was intentionally undercutting the Republican Platform.

Ken Mehlman - just another of the pukes in this corrupt”Two-Party Cartel”. You see, even with a program with the a R or D you can’t tell the difference. They all are bought & paid for by the elites.

Michael Steele: “I am happy for Ken. His announcement, often a very difficult decision which is only compounded when done on the public stage, reaffirms for me why we are friends and why I respect him personally and professionally."

WTF? Mehlman making a public announcement of some bizarre anal sex lifestyle is "why we are friends and why I respect him". I had to check my eyes to see that I wasn't really reading The Onion.

he remains proud to be a Republican, and that his political identity is not defined by any one issue.

Well, Ken -- now you're out lobbying FOR climate change legislation. Your pansy record on immigration was pathetic. (Don't hurt their feeeeeeeeeeelings!)

You're 0 for 3.

For some strange reason, the “unbiased” and “uncoordinated” mainstream media has been publishing one article after another about how this or that “undermines” the Republican party. No, no bias there.

You are way off base with that.

I could however see them playing ball together, Colin's the pitcher or QB and Ken is the catcher or center.

2. What about greed? What about claims to say who can rule?
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 12:17 AM by RandomThoughts
What about self righteousness or judgment? What about uncontrollable lust to such a degree that it leads to hiding women, because of someones inability to control even their own minds?

Do those people have the right to self rule? Or by that statement have they handed that rule to me if I chose to pick it up?

I contend that if anyone has the right to self rule, then everyone does, and by no means does some 'judgment' by personal bias allow for claiming to be able to rule others.

Note I don't make that claim, I only think about having a beer with friends. :) and think society should choose its leaders by best decisions with best information available.

I wonder if the "we did not change anything" is a comment on their thoughts of continuing oligarchy.

13. FR and Stormfront have largely become indistinguishable

FR was the vehicle by which a fair contingent of Stormfronters have apparently sought to "mainstream" their views.

Over on the "mosque" threads, you will find any number of plans for acts of vandalism.

14. Freeper Rachel Faith has severe closet problems
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 09:19 AM by alcibiades_mystery
Take a look at her reasoning. It's very interesting from a psychological perspective. It goes like this:

Conservatives are about control of the self (limitation of the self's desires).
LGBT people (the "Sodomites") cannot control themselves - they constantly give in to their desires.
Therefore, LGBT people cannot be conservative.

This is clear enough, however twisted and bizarre. But isn't it odd that she views homosexuality as something like a universal desire of the self that must be controlled through some kind of personal discipline? Essentially, Rachel Faith is saying, to use the words of Kurt Cobain, everyone is gay, but only those who can't control their gay desires become Sodomites.

Um, excuse me, Rachel Faith? Is the reason you have not engaged (as far as we can tell) in gay sexual behavior simply a matter of you controlling and limiting your desires? Because that's what you're saying in your post. She's essentially saying this:

"Listen, everyone has gay desires. Everyone desires physically intimacy with people of the same sex. It's only natural that the human being would have this multiplicity of desires. But we must CONTROL these desires. We must limit our actions and behaviors. We must find ways to hem in and shut down our own aberrant desires. And because gay people can't do that, they must be shunned, since they introduce the danger of unlimited desire into the public space, and that is a severe threat to all who undergo the severe and difficult physical discipline of limiting their own desires."

:wow:

Serious closet case going on there.
