Let's see: SCABBROW ranted and crapped on OBAMA for a couple of months about the BP gusher. How COULD this thing GO ON for 3 months?!1 AND why didn't OBAMA get there and spend every day there and touch tarballs every day?!1

Uh, I admit that the President needed to TALK EVERY DAY and SAY, "This CAN'T be fixed until August. Meanwhile we will be there, ride BP's ass, and clean-up every day. But it CAN'T HAPPEN any other way! Get it?!1"

So, these miners are buried and the word is they AIN'T GETTING OUT for 4 months!1 Our estimed media is filing away the story and will be back when somebody is hauled out.

Meanwhile, this A.M. Willie GEIST and the SCABBROW circus crew shifted uncomfortably in their seats and joked about, "Ew, FLIES..."

1. I'm not sure how
Edited on Wed Aug-25-10 09:50 PM by ThomasQED
you're comparing 33 live miners to what, 11 human deaths, hundreds of thousands of dead animals, incredible pollution, loss of livelihood and a seriously f'd up gulf for years to come.

And who's a minority? The miners are Chilean and in Chile.

3. The point being made is that if this could somehow be blamed on Obama...
...then it would be 24/7 news. But, since it's just a bunch of brown people down a hole, it can wait till there's something in the story to boost advertising revenues.

The media certainly hasn't paid much attention to the real impact of"...hundreds of thousands of dead animals, incredible pollution, loss of livelihood and a seriously f'd up gulf for years to come." Just how it can be used to political advantage.

4. Thanks for explaining
That was not the point I got at all, but now with your explanation and rereading I got it.

I felt like the gulf oil was covered quite a bit, but maybe that's because I read it here and heard it on the Daily Show and Colbert Report, not the mainstream media.

2. This is a tragic story about a few dozen people in a foreign country

But I don't see how the situation is in any way analogous to the absolute crisis in the Gulf caused by BP.

Strange rant.
