So we all knew going in that it wouldn't be as effective as a purely Democratic approach would have.
We should be spinning this "dip" as the result of those compromises. We have evidence that home sales did better when we had the first time buyer's tax credit in place. We have evidence that car sales did better with the cash for clunkers program in place.
Our talking point should be easy on this one. You saw recovery when we had Democratic initiatives in place, now that we are going back to what the Republicans want you see the economy slowing again. The choice is simple, Republican Recession or Democratic Recovery.
