Who else thinks so too? This guy opposed the war in Iraq from day one. He seems to have some common sense for an "R", but I would never vote for him.

1. Your right.
Paul is Libertarian to the core. I disagree with him on things for sure but out of all of those sorry bastards on display, he'd get my vote--if someone held a bazooka to my head.

7. libertarian to the core
except for that whole abortion thing. he's anti-choice but frames it as a state's rights thing. Saying abortion should be made illegal by the states. I guess he doesn't mind the government pushing their noses into women's business, just not his.

3. his opposition to the Iraq war is possibly the only position he is correct about. But for some here,
that's enough.

5. I just thought it was astounding.
The rest of the GOP candidates just parrot Bush and say "We must stay in Iraq until we win."

This guy should be an "I" & not an "R"

He blasted "entitlement programs" like welfare and social security & that's the main reason I could never vote for him, people need those safety nets.

9. Well he is a different kind of nut.
He wants to abolish the IRS, abolish public schools, get rid of the minimum wage, and get rid of any protection for the people possible. Yeah he is against the war, but does that really matter when you work 12 hour days to live in a 1 room apartment with no schools in his country?

Unfortunately no one in Washington, especially those who defend the poor and the middle class, cares about this subject. Instead, all we hear is that tax cuts for the rich are the source of every economic ill in the country. Anyone truly concerned about the middle class suffering from falling real wages, under-employment, a rising cost of living, and a decreasing standard of living should pay a lot more attention to monetary policy. Federal spending, deficits, and Federal Reserve mischief hurt the poor while transferring wealth to the already rich. This is the real problem, and raising taxes on those who produce wealth will only make conditions worse.

12. From what I know of him...
he's good on this one issue, but very bad on others. He is EXTREMELY economically right-wing: not just in favour of making taxes more regressive, but abolishing them. He is also anti-choice, which for someone who says he's a libertarian, is really disgusting.

All the Republican candidates seem nuts!

14. I agree
Except I would vote for him. He's the only candidate in either party who consistently opposes all free trade pacts, as well as opposing illegal immigration. He's the most representative candidate of working and middle class Americans.

and due to that the one with no chance in hell of winning the nomination

that said his domestic policies are hard right, libertarian, and those are as dangerous as neo cons

Just an FYI

But at least he coudl be truested with the nuclear football. I can't say the same about the other nine
