Gospel according to Tweety: DC Dems AFRAID of coming election, could LOSE SENATE!!!
Edited on Sun Aug-15-10 09:38 AM by old mark
He was asking his guests about this and NO ONE seemed to think the Dems could hold the present majority, near useless as it seems...they are saying the DNC is spending money poorly and not funding key races, and there is danger of losing more than 12 Senate seats. I don't believe even the Democratic Party is that stupid, but I have been wrong before I thought NO ONE would be dumb enough to elect Reagan President...)
I don't believe things are as terrible as they think, but what do I know?

Who will be suprised in November - Us of the GOPers?

1. Good, maybe he'll propel the mushy middle off their couches
and get them to the polls.

Complacence is always the enemy of the Democratic Party.

2. Burr is in trouble in my state. That could be a gain for Dems.
How much has tweety actually traveled in the states to get a real pulse instead of a media driven one?

4. I believe that - the DC elitists sit in a closed circle talking to each other
and believing their own bullshit. I am thinking they will be AMAZED after the election.

10. I think they all go to dinner together and talk at each other
until the bill arrives and their bosses pick up the tab.

7. I hope he's in trouble, he's awful
He's not as totally awful as Jesse Helms was, but he's cut from the same basic cloth, a far right idiot who's been returned to office solely to piss off all them city boys who think they're so smart.

Now if y'all can only get rid of Virginia Foxx.

9. Foxx is not from my district nor could she win it.
She would be laughed off the ballot. Can't help you with that one but maybe those in her district can.

11. I know people in her district
and they tell me the old harridan is pretty much assured of another victory.

Maybe she'll self combust or the devil will show up to collect that soul she sold him.

The devil probably won't even have anything to do with her anymore.

3. They Went From Dumb to Dumber
Reagan, then Bush Jr. - never underestimate how uniformed and fickle American voters are.

5. Tweety' has no clue
I don't think the tea baggers are scaring just Dems. I think there's a whole lot of moderate conservative that are afraid of them too. However, if tweety does end up being correct in his prediction, the DLC'ers have no one to blame but themselves. You hear that Rahm?

6. Just what wonderful honest caring republicans are running for office.
Most of those I see are a bunch of crap. They lie, they are trying to overcome any thing that the middle class has so they can give it to the rich. Who is dumb enough to vote for them. Take Angle. Forget about social security, and medicare she is trying to dump, think of this. She wants to ban alcohol...what in the devil would Nevada be without alcohol. That alone should sink HER chances. And Paul weirdo from the get go. People aren't as stupid as the GOP thinks.

8. We will be dismayed
Anyone here who's suprised is just delusional.

When the economy is this bad, it's a given that we're going to get our asses handed to us.

That's why I'm so pissed at the Dems, for not having a spine and/or being DINO's. We had this chance of a lifetime to make real, positive change, and they've let the inmate Republicans run the asylum.

Things are bad now, but they'll be a thousand times worse if/when the Repukes gain control of Congress.

15. Or they'll just blame the media
They'll say it's Chris Matthews's fault, he willed the election to the GOP.

We only had one shot at controlling both houses and the oval office, and we didn't get enough done because we were too busy kowtowing to groups who will put the Rethugs back in power come November.

12. Tweety is an entertainer that writes his own script. If you believe him
then welcome to his own personal agenda. Fear sells.

14. How does this guy still have a job?
Does Matthews EVER do any research before spouting his mouth off?
How are the dems going to lose the senate?
What seats are we going to lose?
Does he even bother following the polls?
Has he ever even heard of Nate Silver and 538.com?

Its like he just creates these theories from nothing. To lose the senate things would have to blow up in our faces in a huge way and there is no evidence that that is going to happen anytime soon.Yes, we will lose a couple senate seats but we might even win one or two. The house is what we need to be worried about.

17. "Has he ever even heard of Nate Silver and 538.com?"
I've been reading it. And the trending is bad for us with two and a half months left. Nine of the top ten seats likely to switch parties are all for the Rethugs and the one exception is Crist.....a GOP "independant". Every week, the percentage of them taking over gets a little more likely.

16. Perhaps I'm being overly cynical..
Although I'm not sure if that's possible, Lily Tomlin thought not..

But I suspect the Dems will breathe a huge sigh of relief if they lose the Senate, an actual majority is a burning albatross around their necks that forces them to make up many many excuses for why they cannot pass liberal legislation, if they lose the Senate they have the bestest evah excuse.
