1. When I first came across Politico....
Edited on Fri Aug-13-10 05:41 PM by Forkboy
...the first two things I read from them were just flat out wrong, and I don't mean opinion-wise, I mean facts-wise (and it related to Reagan, naturally). I've never had any use for them.

5. Once a lie is circulated, it stays gospel truth for a certain percentage of people.
It's why The Moonie Washington Times came to be and came to be Poppy's favorite newspaper. In his Dim Son's day as thief executive, Fox and CNN perpetuated the myth that Iraq was behind the attacks of September 11 -- a lie believed true by idiots and non-conservatives alike.

...on a national show. Way over-due.

6. Completely and honestly true.
And yet, some DUers still consider the place the "paper of record" as long as it throws enough anti-Obama fodder their way.

12. That's unfair
It can be pro or anti Obama people who cite them. You've seen it. I've seen it.

9. What bothers me is
Politico has been able to appear a somewhat legitimate news source. I guess having faux around helps in that regard.

10. He uses a website to wrap fish in his office?
And why did he have fish in his office?

Does he sell fish there? Does he have a vendor's license?

I'm confused.

13. They have a print version.
At the bigger Metro stations in DC, they have a brazillian newspaper boxes, some free and some not. Politico is offered, often right next to the free print version of The Onion. Yes, The Onion also has a print version.

15. I didn't realize that
The Politico AND the Onion?

I guess you have to pander to your (web-illiterate) audience.

I('m rather surprised that The Onion has one, though.

16. Pre-Internet, The Onion was print only.
I used to get a subscription as a Christmas present from a certain Sparkly Fairy Princess.

14. This is exactly why I love that man. His sense of humor and quick wit wrapped up in honesty.
I hope he stays in public office for a long long long time. We need his voice.
