I just saw the new Field Director for ICE on local TV.

He kept using the phrase "criminal aliens" over and over.

I thought he was a rabid right winger Republican until I saw his title on the screen.

I have never heard the terms "criminal aliens" on a news segment before.

I did not like it.

Don't know who appoints field directors for ICE under this administration, but they sure got one who will appeal to tea baggers with such terms as "criminal alien".

Unfortunately the interviewer on Bay News 9 was quite happy with the terms.

and aliens who are serving time.


Under Obama the mission for ICE investigations has been radically changed to stop all persuit of undocumented workers who have not committed a crime and spend all of their time at prisons and jails searching for aliens that are hiding in the criminal population and to serve arrest warrants on outstanding gang members with criminal charges pending.

In the San Diego sector this year ICE has detained exactly one non criminal alien and the officer was reprimanded.

In the SW sector all ICE investigation and enforcement officers are involved in finding and deporting 'criminal aliens' and none are involved in non criminal aliens.

One DUer posted that they called ICE to say that they were willing to submit to voluntary deportation and ICE informed them that they didn't have the time or the resources to handle the case - all time has to be accounted for 'criminal aliens'.
