Is this going on elsewhere in the country beside Dayton, OH? Tea party discount shopping card.
http://www.daytondailynews.com/business/dayton-tea-party-activist-starts-conservative-business-exchange-857218.html

"About 30 local businesses are participating in a program to link conservative consumers with businesses owned by conservatives to help support the Tea Party.

Donald Hutchinson, a businessman and Tea Party supporter, calls his initiative the Tea Party Exchange Inc.

Tea Party supporters who obtain a TPX-Great American card — similar to a customer-loyalty card consumers can attach to key rings — and show it at a participating business can get a discount on the company’s services. The local merchant then gives 5 percent of the sale revenue to the local Tea party chapter to help fund rallies.

Hutchinson is co-founder and president of Essex HR and Associates, a Washington Twp. human resources consultant. He said he plans to speak at the national March on DC Tea Party rally Sept. 11 in Washington, D.C., and will promote the Tea Party Exchange concept to other chapters of the Tea Party, whose members advocate for reducing taxes and cutting spending and the size of government."

4. And they think...
we are crazy to complain. I wouldn't go within 10 feet of such a merchant although I know others who would because of what was sold no matter by whom. We Americans like to believe that we stick it to those we don't like and are neutral everywhere else. These are the same people who would hesitate to enter a store the looked vaguely Middle-eastern or Asian because they might use the money for terrorism. Well sedition is a form of terrorism.
I am upset by any public entity that supports political, economic, or social views that are limited and xenophobic. Either you want business or you want purity; can't have both in the real world.

6. Isn't it something if the TEA BAGS were so so patriotic and
wanted to stop the deficit etc etc and pushed the issue in 2001 wonder where this country would be today. Hey maybe we wouldn't have had BUSH'S WARS. Insane taxcuts for the rich. And all the things the Bush administration did to create this mess. Oh I understand. They just want to protest Democrats. They think republicans in office should be allowed to do anything they want.

7. I don't ask what a company's or firm's politics are, but if they advertise it,
it will definitely influence my decision to patronize that company or firm.

10. So if I buy something at the store and then return it and get my money back,
does the store contact the teabaggers for their 5% back? Or does the store eat it?

19. By all means get one!
In addition to getting a sweet discount from people who don't deserve your money anyway, it'll be a terrific relic to put on the shelf beside the pet rock, the mood ring and the tamagotchi.

22. This business is already disavowing any association with the Teabaggers
Edited on Fri Aug-13-10 02:09 PM by Contrary1
:nuke:
The Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Fairborn OH is in no way affiliated with the TEA PARTY. The association with the tea party is held by the Tropical Smoothie located at 6241 Far Hills in Centerville, OH. The owner of this store has taken upon himself to associate all Tropical Smoothies in the Dayton area with the Tea Party without approval of individual store owners. I can not speak for others stores, however, in no way is the Tropical Smoothie in Fairborn/WSU associated with the Tea Party Movement.

Edited on Fri Aug-13-10 07:26 PM by Canuckistanian
Because that's the same relative number of people who support the Teabaggers.

Maybe they could offer a 10% discount on buying "The Turner Diaries", if they're so concerned about "the gov't overreach concerning minorities"
