You can't make this up/ fool Rand thinks no drug problem.
Everyday this carpetbaging son of Texas out of PA pulls another dumb ass thought out of his smirky piehole. "said he doesn't think the drug problem in Eastern Kentucky is "a real pressing issue," even though others have described substance abuse in the region as an epidemic." Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb estimated 95 percent of the problems police deal with — everything from domestic assaults and thefts to murder — are related to drugs.
"Drugs is definitely a pressing issue in this area," said Webb, a Democrat. "I cannot go to Wal-Mart or Food City to shop without somebody stopping me and talking about a drug dealer in their neighborhood."
As a Republican, businesswoman Carrie Cinnamond-Rose leans toward Paul, but she has seen her Pikeville pharmacy burglarized and robbed four times in recent years.
"I'll have to follow my heart but let my brain enter into it, too." Rand Paul is neither libertarian or republican he is an ignorant dullard of an opportunist. Appalachia has a fucking huge pill & meth problem you idiot. Lots of pot too but so what, fix the pill/ meth problem.
Paul you would not make a pimple on a Kentuckians ass.

2. He doesn't trouble himself to learn about the state
His ideas are putrid and he doesn't even trouble himself to learn about the issues confronting the state he is running to represent. I grew up in eastern Kentucky and my widowed mother lives there still. One of my big worries is that one of the NUMEROUS drug addicts will decide an elderly woman has to have something in her medicine cabinet worth breaking in to get. Some of my Mom's neighbors and friends have been burglarized for money for drugs (the police said as much). For this fool to say it isn't a problem is disgusting. All he has to do is turn on the local news to educate himself, but reality isn't something teabaggers seek, power is all they want. He is a total piece of shit in every way.

4. He thinks E KY water is o k too, even though about 60% of
well water is polluted with run off from mountaintop removal/ strip mining. Drugs??? I live in Lexington and I have had pain killers stolen. When the KY kids get hooked on pills they soon turn to the real shit, Cincinnati heroin, He is a 'libertarian that does not believe pot should be legal, even though the original " Libertarian Manifesto" which I read in the mid '70's calls for it. Libertarian who makes the lion share of profit from his self-certified practice from the Federal Government. He is not a Kentuckian in spirit or birth. He only cares for the haves. Everyone else can suck it, they should have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps etc. He is a kiss up, kick down fraud of a man. I guess Jack Conway is just sitting around letting this idiot hoist his own petard. I also had 3 big aluminum ladders stolen in June that were probably converted into scrap then $$, then drugs. We waste resources on the war on drugs by sending the dressed up police out in fucking Hueys all over KY looking for weed, an innocuous drug, making KY look like the third world. The scourge on us are these drugs. #1 Heroin/ oxy, percocet, etc pain pills. #2 Crystal Meth, #3 Cocaine. As an Eye Doctor I bet Rand has some cocaine in his office( they used it on me 25 years ago). Hope nobody breaks in looking for it asshole. I would say thanks for the rant but it's not a rant about Paul, it's just the tip of the iceberg of teabag crazy from that dullard. Peace, Richard

7.  Kentucky is, like, ground zero in the abuse of OxyContin
One would think a person running for office representing Kentucky would know drug abuse is so rampant, the state was compelled sued the makers OxyContin.

Ky. officials sue makers of OxyContin

Officials seek millions in compensation from makers of 'hillbilly heroin'

updated 10/4/2007 9:38:39 PM ET

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky officials on Thursday sued the manufacturer of OxyContin, the prescription painkiller dubbed "hillbilly heroin," because of widespread abuse in Appalachia.

A lawsuit filed by Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo and Pike County officials demands millions in compensation from drug maker Purdue Pharma.

"Make no mistake about it — this is war," said Gary C. Johnson, the county's outside counsel who is handling the case.

The lawsuit seeks reimbursement for costs incurred in drug abuse programs, law enforcement and prescription payments through Medicaid and the Kentucky Pharmaceutical Assistance program.

Drugmaker defends itself
In a statement, Purdue Pharma officials said OxyContin's packaging warns against the dangers of abusing the drug and that the company shouldn't be held responsible for what individuals do.

"We will defend this lawsuit vigorously and we expect to prevail," the statement said.

Filed in Pike County Circuit Court, the lawsuit seeks class-action status for other "similarly situated" counties in the state. It seeks unspecified punitive damages and the creation of a court-monitored fund, financed by Purdue Pharma, that would pay for a program that would notify users of the potential harms of the drug and spur research on the effects of the drug, among other initiatives.

9. So we are supposed to be drug warriors now because Rand is a pug? Fuck that.
This is really cheap stuff.

The American RW is most assuredly not "soft on drugs."

Being "soft on drugs" is, in the abstract, a progressive value.

Attacking this lunatic for NOT being a RW drug hysteric is not cool.

I give a shit about HEROIN, CRYSTAL METH, & COCAINE// The Libertarian Manifesto calls for no penalties on drugs but he does. Are you trying to say HEROIN, CRYSTAL METH, & COCAINE are ok or do I just not understand your post?

13. Meth is some serious shit. It's a major public health and safety problem in prevalent areas
I agree that criminalization is not the way to go. I say there should be no criminalization of possession or consumption of any drug but they are not all equal.

16. Hello, Hello_KITTY, No they aren't all equal these are #'s
to cry over. "Local officials reported 114 overdose deaths during the first two months of this year in 21 Eastern and southern Kentucky counties". And the goddam cops dressed in their military kit more intricate by far than my kit as a tank commander in the "70's. They aren't looking for the 3 evil, my designation, drugs. They are playing army flying the fuck all over looking for pot, which hasn't killed anybody. There is something about the prop chop of a Huey that may be timeless but sure not needed on constant marijuana eradication patrol over KY. The cops love playing army. 114 dead addicts in 2 months and Rand Paul thinks it is no big deal. Peace, Richard

11. Guess it's time to make drugs illegal and spend billions of dollars
You mean that's already been tried for over 30 years?

Gee. I wonder what Rand would have us do now. He surely wouldn't suggest a ratcheting up of the War on Drugs!

12. Drug problem in KY is from a fucked over system of poor
rural & urban people with little hope for the lives they see on TV. The war on drugs has always been stupid and wasteful and has destroyed hundreds of thousands of people with its Draconian laws. Why not make it all legal and get rid of the profit motive? MY POINT is the ignorant Paul is unfuckingaware of problems in his 'home' state.
