Anti-tax supporters join Plainfield fray

PLAINFIELD Ed Brown's Plainfield (New Hampshire) home is buzzing with supporters again this week, as the anti-tax militia man continues his stand-off with the government.
Brown and his wife, Elaine, were found guilty of tax evasion on Thursday. U-S marshals say they have no plans to escalate.

About 30 people joined Brown on Sunday at his fortress-like home. Some of them are armed.

Brown has repeatedly said he would rather die than submit to the federal government.

1. R.I.P., Mr. Brown....
Will the Bush junta come after them? They need to keep collecting taxes to steal from the Treasury yet these people are their yahoo base. What a dilemma!

3. Curious - I wonder why the MSM isn't covering this?
Wait, don't answer that question - I'm sure it's nothing more than an oversight or in their infinite wisdom they decided I didn't need to hear this news.

:eyes:

This is Bush's base - it has to be a perplexing dilemma for his people to figure out what they are going to do next. Alienate their true believers or rush in and blow em all to hell.

I went to a gun show few weeks back and you wouldn't believe the vitriol and anger directed at the "liberal" government of Bill Clinton. However, not one of the chickenhawks were willing to go to Iraq - they thought that buying their aresenal here was their own contribution to the war on terror. What are they going to do when the FBI, US Marshals, and IRS agents raid this place - are they going to slam the Bush's for trying to take these guys guns away? Or are they going to be silent on the matter, since anything the Bush Reich does is ok because "he's a Republican"?

4. Let me also add - If these are terrorist groups, why isn't Homeland Security taking action?
I thought we were in a war on terror? Or do the homegrown Republican kind not count?

5. I live in NH, but haven't really been following this too closely.
(Probably because it's not being reported.) Has anyone heard if the people holed up are among the so-called "Free Staters?" I know a bunch of them moved to New Hampshire on the mistaken belief that this is the least regulated, hands off government in the nation.
