1. Is this where he tells us about his secret plot to destroy public education, unions and teachers?
:eyes:

7. Are they still with Hillary?
I guess the media obsession with Hillary still holds.
Of course, Obama is talking about issues mostly of interest to young people, which the national press does a great job of ignoring.

8. We finally have a President talking about the student loan problem.
It's so refreshing after a decade of the Clinton-era party ignoring young people in favor of searching for votes from age groups that vote in higher numbers. It's nice to hear a Democrat occasionally talk about something other than prescription drugs for seniors and social security.

10. Absolutely
and I just love the responses on the faces of the young people. They're having a good time.

He's a genuine academic.
I love this speech.
Coverage still on CSPan1 as he mingles with the students - very cool

12. I find it unnerving that people under 30 have not experienced
America prior to Reagan and the Neo-cons and Neo-liberals.

Reagan did horrible things to the public education system in California that have compounded to date.

I have a BS from Cal with no student loans and no parental help but saved before starting, had scholarships, and worked during school. Reagan was Governor then. I have an MBA from Cal and never paid more than $250 a semester student fees and one $5000 student loan (that I used to buy my first pc mostly).

Public education at the university level is ever more compromised by corporate money, fees are increased making student loans more necessary, and today's students now suffer the consequences of a high loan burden unless their parents are wealthy.
