1. I can't talk you down because I don't know why you're
uncomfortable. He's got great security, don't worry.

18. I read where Rick Perry wants to "talk" with him..
Looks like the GOP is sending out their attack dogs.

3. There are a lot of states I would be fearful
of him visiting. And you can't get a definite message to pin an attempt on his life on Fox. Beck surreptitiously calls for it every day. But he doesn't come right out and Rush does also. If someone could record him saying it I for one would DEMAND the secret service lock them up.

Best focus your 'bad feelings' there.

5. He's been here before
And he did just fine.

Texas is going to elect a Democratic governor this November. We're not full blue but we're getting there.

While I would rather have Obama here to raise funds for Texas Democrats as opposed to the DNC/DSCC, I am glad for the visit.

14. We'll be getting a little taste.
The Texas (Democratic) party will get $250,000 of the take – a somewhat unusual arrangement. For years, Texas Democrats have grumbled that national party officials swoop in, woo donors, and leave without doing much in return.

8. Rick Perry is supposed to meet him at the airport in Dallas
to talk about bailing Texas out.

I'm not sure if Obama has a motorcade scheduled through downtown Dallas.

29. I live in San Antonio
Edited on Mon Aug-09-10 05:35 PM by Gman
On the afternoon of 11/21/63 I saw JFK's motorcade in San Antonio on his way to Brooks AFB to dedicate the School Of Aerospace Medicine there. He waved at our school group. The dedication was his last official act as president.

And now I just heard a motorcycle cop escorting the motorcade was hurt. And he went to Parkland Hospital... WAAYYY too much deja vu!

30. That sounds like an incredible memory
I'm sorry someone was hurt in the president's motorcade. Joe Biden's motorcade has worse luck as I understand there's been at least three incidents and I think one fatality.

Coincidences are interesting. I used to live across the alley from Oswald's old boarding house. My morning bus ride into downtown Dallas followed the same route as Kennedy's motorcade. My kid was born at Parkland after I spent 7 hours in the emergency room.

:hi:

Just for some reason, Obama being in Dallas has really creeped me out and I just had a bad feeling about it.

Without the US government Texas would be a disaster.

Still they allow their citizens to carry guns. Sometimes the way things work just makes your head spin.

or something of that magnitude, you'd have reason to worry and so would he. He's way too much of a centrist for that concern.

Edited on Tue Aug-10-10 08:26 AM by w8liftinglady
first-George Bush lives in University park(or Highland Park..I forget)....along with his multi-millionaire buds....they-or their wide circle of unpleasant minions..may drop in.
second-there are many hate groups in the area who are extremely angry over Obama's victory...
http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/hate-map#s=TX

Aryan Nations 88
Aryan Terror Brigade
Confederate Hammerskins
European-American Unity and Rights Organization
Independent Skins Southwest
League of the South
National Alliance
United White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan(MULTIPLE groups-including one 5 miles from me)
Volksfront

Third-there are many Tea Party groups with a chip on their shoulder-26 within 30 miles of dallas

so,yeah-I love him,but I'll be glad to see him leave safely.
