To the Conservatives who frame the Prop 8 ruling as "Overturning the will of the people..."
You are either completely misguided or you are lying.

It's called CHECKS AND BALANCES. If you'd take your head out of your ass long enough even to watch a "Schoolhouse Rock" episode, you'd know it's one of the few things holding our democracy together. Among other things, it was designed to protect the minority from the whims of a tyrannical majority.

By the way, the purpose of the Judical branch is to determine the constitutionality of the law, which is precisely what Judge Walker did.

And if you don't know, you better ask somebody.

2. Here's another one. Tell them
"This is a republic, NOT a democracy." -as they are so fond of saying.

6. DEA vs Medical Marijuana
Ever notice how the conservatives are all for "overturning the will of the people" when it means the "will of the people" are for freedom? Like in the case of medical marijuana?

However, notice how the conservatives flip-flop and are all against the "overturning the will of the people" when that overturning means upholding equality? Like in the case of overturning prop 8?

Looks to me like the conservatives are ass backwards and are too stupid to realize it.

Peace,
Xicano

7. There is a lot of ignorance out there
I suppose they think they can by initiatives, deny people they do not like their civil rights. I guess they will have to wait until Glenn Beck gets to the chapter about constitutionality before they get it.

It's either protected by the Constitution and the Courts or it isn't.

10. Segregation was the "will of the people" in the 1950's/60's. Male only sufferage was the "will of

the people" in the 1910's.
