July Jobs Report

The BLS reported today that the economy added 71,000 private sector jobs in the month of July, marking the seventh consecutive month of private sector job growth, even as overall employment declined due to the loss of temporary Census jobs.

This jobs report shows private employers and businesses taking the lead in our economic recovery — and a sharp turnaround from the 700,000 jobs per month lost under President Bush — despite Congressional Republicans fighting against the economic recovery every step of the way. ‪‪

We must do more, and our ‘Make It In America’ agenda will strengthen a manufacturing sector already on the rise, increasing our competitiveness and creating jobs so we can lead the world economy. ‬‬

The BLS reported today that the economy added 71,000 private sector jobs in the month of July, marking the seventh consecutive month of private sector job growth, even as overall employment declined due to the loss of temporary Census jobs.

36,000 manufacturing jobs were added in July, with 183,000 manufacturing jobs added this year.
