2. I was beaten severely by cops when I was 18 years old.
I was on my way home from work after closing my Dad's service station. When I got within a few blocks of my parent's house unmarked cars came from both directions and stopped me. They immediately arrested me and I had no idea why. When I was being questioned by two officers in a small upstairs room in the police station the next thing I knew I was waking up on the floor with my face covered with blood. One of the officers was behind the desk and walked behind me and I thought he was leaving the room because the door was behind me. But then he hit me on the side of the head as hard as he could and I lost consciousness.

It was a case of mistaken identity because they thought I was connected to someone they were looking for. My parents were in Europe and didn't return for a couple more weeks. When I went to the hospital I told them I had been beaten up by the cops and within minutes a cop was in my hospital room intimidating me. With my parents out of town I felt very threatened. When my parents returned my Dad went with me to see about suing the police department. But in that town the cops could do anything and get away with it and we couldn't make a case against them.

To this day, I never stop for a cop at night if I am not in a public area. I keep driving until I can pull over where there are a lot of witnesses. The police can't do anything to you if you keep driving and you're not trying to elude them. I wouldn't trust any cop in the middle of the night on a dark, remote road. You are putting your life in danger.

...........................................................................................

You can add one more thing to your list. In the mid-80s a woman who was hitchhiking near Huntsville, Texas was picked up and raped by a trucker. When he was finished he threw her out of the truck onto the side of I-45, a highway between Houston and Dallas. It was the middle of the night. A deputy came by and saw her and she waved for help. But instead of helping her he took her out to the tall grass away from the road and raped her too. He was caught and arrested, but if would have killed her he would have gotten away with it.

Moral of both stories: DONT EVER TRUST A COP AT NIGHT. Always drive to a safe place where there are a lot of witnesses to make sure you won't get beaten up or killed.

A great friend of mine and a WWII marine veteran was also a psychologist. He conducted a study where he performed psychological evaluations on a couple of hundred police officers and a couple of hundred inmates at Huntsville Prison. He used tests like the MMPI and other tests to determine the psychological profiles of a person. The results were stunning. The psychological profiles of both the cops and the inmates were virtually identical.

3. Thank you for diligently posting these regular acts of police brutality.
It is frightening that these daily horrors are basically ignored and largely accepted, and they're only a the tip of the tip of the iceberg. It is a systemic failure of law enforcement to treat citizens with respect.
