Giuliani daughter arrested at NYC cosmetics store

NEW YORK – Rudy Giuliani's daughter was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge at a beauty supplies store after she was seen on security video pocketing makeup, police said.

Caroline Giuliani, a 20-year-old Harvard University student, was seen taking five items worth more than $100 at a Sephora store in Manhattan, New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said.

Store managers, after calling police, said they didn't want to press charges against her, Browne said. But police arrested her on a petty larceny charge, he said.

1. Well, under the two-tier justice system we currently use in the US,

after her conviction she, or her parents, will probably pay a $2,000 fine and then be required to enroll in a $2,500 course that will act to effectively expunge her record of any conviction. She'll finish college at Harvard and, because she paid $2,500 for that class, she will pass the background check for any job she applies for in the future.

I would only be able to rob a bank for the same $4,500 necessary to give my kid a future after she caught doing something so trivial but stupid! If a person doesn't have money, this shop-lifting incident is a life-changing event.
