As we watch Maxine get pilloried, PLEASE take a short trip down Memory Lane
THIS is what Maxine stands for:

The Bush machine engineered what is effectively a coup d'etat in the US in 1999-2000 when they conspired to stop the vote counting and install the idiot son of the son of a traitor. The aggrieved parties were the US as a whole and one Vice president Albert Gore.

The machinations moved at an astonsihing pace untiul we were down to the last card that could be played: A vote in the Congress that required at least one Senator to stand in support. A clarion call, loud and clear arose as Maxine Waters walked into the Senate chamber and asked for that support.

Not one of the Senators then seated - some of which still are and some of which Democrats cheer from time to time - would stand in support. Not one would assent to support the call sent out by Maxine to allow justice to prevail and to allow the duly elected president of the United States to be seated. Ignoring Maxine on that day got us to where we now find ourselves. That could have changed the course of history, quite literally.

In case you've forgotten that, please revisit it. THAT is who Maxine Waters is.

We owe her much.

1. She seems willing to confront the accusations head on and is denying the charges.
There's more to this story.

2. Beware of the hype...
I believe this is excellent advice in general, but in this instance I believe it to be all the more important. If shit is being stirred, beware the stirrer... and the pesky flies.

6. Hallelujah! That was a disgusting time in history.A "bad day at blackrock"
cowardly time. I was furious and still am. We must stand for honestly and fairness. We do in our everyday lives. Why can't those who took oaths that they would be brave enough to protect fairness and justice actually lay down their bodies in front of the ideals they purport to support?

7. a day that will live in infamy
Part of the blame for that day can be assigned to Al Gore, who allegedly asked his colleagues to stand down. He apparently thought it was all about him and his political future -- not wanting to be a "sore loserman". By standing down, no marker was placed for history of the enormity of the Bush insult to the Constitution. Gore should have forced the process to its bitter, ultimate end so future generations would know of the theft.

Maxine Waters stood for the Constitution. Bless her. She also was a lioness during the attempted Republican coup against Bill Clinton.
