Why is it that when my ears hear "anchor babies" my brain hears "ANGER! babies" ?

Has my political acumen sharpened to a point that Frank Lutz talking points no longer have a surface to stick to?
Am I reading too much in to it or am I reading right through to the core?
Is it because everyone I hear saying it seems so so angry at babies? (angrier than they usually are at their fellow Americans)

BTW- there is an Emily Litella thread about " what all this about 'anger babies'" and "tourists coming here to have 'anger babies'"
but I have to go to work so I can't post the obligatory "Oh! ..... never mind" post.

1. When someone says it to me all I hear is
"I'm a racist fuck that's too stupid to know we are all in this together."

Every time the economics get tight for the bottom 95% of us the "illegals" become an issue again. As if our lot in life is some brown mama or brown baby's fault. The folks all worked up just aren't bright enough to ask themselves if there's not enough resources to go around and we have to tell a baby to fuck off and die then how come we can find trillions for Halliburton.......

3. What people (including myself) mean when they use that term
is one of many incentives that exist for illegal immigration. There's a whole bunch of things, like being able to use a cheap photocopy of an ID to get a job, free emergency room care if you have another fake ID, and possible future citizenship in either an amnesty that seems to come around every 25-30 years, or through your citizen-baby being able to sponsor you when he/she becomes an adult.

Every immigration 'reform' bill ever passed seems to promise that it will be the last, but we seem to be on an endless cycle of illegal immigration.

4. That is because no reform law's ever address the real problem which is cheap
slave labor that businesses take advantage of and exploit to increase profits. Instead of going after said businesses, they set a small fine that the business laugh off and import more illegals that will work for next to nothing. So the nit wits turn the other way and claim its all the illegals fault for coming to the country a don't want them or treat them well. Like everything else the nit wits blame the victim.

7. That's why I favor a different approach to immigration reform
We have something called e-Verify that is strictly optional, that's why illegal immigrants get away with cheap photocopies that give farmers and businesses plausible deniability. Since the Feds are obviously not going to require e-Verify, the states should take it upon themselves to require an e-Verify form to accompany the wages deducted on that state's income tax form. It would completely avoid the racial pitfalls that are part and parcel of the Arizona law.

But, further things need to be accomplished. Border security is an obvious one, but perhaps as part of a comprehensive immigration reform, Congress could use its powers under the 14th Amendment to simply cut off automatic citizenship for those born here to those here illegally. It might not be retroactive, but it could be applied successfully on a go-forward basis.

5. You know what a lot of all this hype about this and the
illegal immigrants. Well republicans know that they all mostly vote Democratic when they become legal and they are raising a fit about that. Why do you think they continue to fight against DC have a voting rep and senator. They know they will now and forever be a Democrat.
