Hey, nobody's going to kick my brothers ass but me....
Ever been a sibling? Know this phrase? Well it works in politics too. Yes I am mad as hell at Obama. But whenever I hear some repuke asshole talk about him I stand up for him. Vehemently.
You see, Obama is like my kid brother. I'm the older brother and it's my job to call Obama an asshole when he deserves it, it's my job to point out when he is wrong. If he is acting like Bush it's my job to tell him he's acting like the worst moron in history. And I can do it, without animosity because he is my brother. I can call him on the things I think he does wrong, and I can praise him when he does right. It's how a family acts. Now if you don't like this well then disown me and kick me off this board but if you have no problem then stop trying to make me look like I am comparing Obama to Hitler. I'm not.

5. Can't tell you exactly
it's against the rules. But put it this way, I don't think Obama is worse than Bush. No matter how much I rag on his policies.

And the president is exactly my little brother's age.

4. Obama is not my brother.
Edited on Mon Aug-02-10 04:23 PM by LWolf
I can, and do, stand up against racist attacks, birthers, teabaggers, racists, accusations of socialism, etc., but that's because they are false, not because he's my "family."

Politicians aren't my family.

7. Well I apologize for the metaphor.
He's not my "family" either, you see a metaphor is a device used to make a point by equating said point with something else. Sorry if you didn't get that.

13. I know what a metaphor is.
I just don't like the one you used. Or I don't agree with the idea behind it. Or both. Take your pick.

15. Ok then.. have a nice day.
BTW I know you knew... I was being an ass. As is my prerogative, and apparently yours too.

16. Okay.
You probably figured out that I knew you were being an ass, so responded accordingly. We could keep it up all day, except that I won't get any work done. So I'll just head off to do my chores.

9. But insider/outsider still may apply. I respond differently
to Republicans when they do Republican things than I do to Democrats that do things I don't agree with.

14. That one works better for me.
I tend to be angrier when Democrats do republican things than when Republicans do. I expect it from one, and it's a betrayal from the other.

17. That's it. I float ideas here I'd never talk about
to "outsiders". I get angrier with Democrats because I expect more from them.

6. On many occasions Obama has requested exactly that.
He wants us to hold his feet to the fire and make him act.

Does your little bro do that too?

10. Can a younger brother call an older brother an asshole when he deserves it, too?
I'm the youngest of five boys, and I have grown tired of taking crap from my older brothers, especially since I'm better educated.

11. Hell yeah!
You are supposed to stand for what you believe in, no matter who it is you are standing up to. The brother thing was a metaphor as I explained to the guy who got mad about Obama not being in his "family".
