If Jeff Greene wins FL Dem senate nomination--better news for Charlie Crist (PPP)
More on Florida Senate

Just how good would it be for Charlie Crist if Jeff Greene won the Democratic nomination for the Senate in Florida? Our poll of the state a couple weeks ago found that among people who would vote for Kendrick Meek if he was the Democratic nominee only 32% would vote for Greene were he the nominee while 40% would go for Crist with Libertarian Alex Snitker getting 5% and Marco Rubio pulling 4%.

There's a particularly strong disparity with black voters. If Meek is the nominee Crist loses them 39-33. If Greene is the nominee Crist wins them 61-17.

If Greene manages to win the Democratic primary it may be a Pyrrhic victory with Crist turning out to be real winner.

1. Yeah, thats probably true, but Greene has a bazillion bucks and willing to spend..
a big chunk of it to buy himself a seat in the US Senate... and money has a strange way of creating votes.

a kind of "Operation Chaos" thing.

6. Saw my first Meek ad on TV today.
Greene has been hammering at him for weeks. Both ads are very nasty. The Dem primary has gotten ugly. If Meek doesn't win. I shall surely consider Christ. I may consider him anyway, since Rubio is terrible and a Jeb Bush stooge.

The Senate doesn't do anything anyway.

10. Ditto
Jeff Greene is a GOPer plant in FL, just as Alvin Greene is in SC.

18. He's just like Crist.
Only because he has a giant letter "D" after his name he can be discussed on DU. Millions will vote for him because of it.

20. Well, I dont see any comparison between Crist and Greene.
Crist has many left leaning positions.. I havent seen any evidence of a single left leaning viewpoint displayed by Greene.. other than registering as a Democrat. Do you have any evidence? If so, please post it.

17. Which one, Greene or Crist??
Greene was a Repub who became a Dem out of convenience. Crist was a Repub who became a NPA out of convenience.

What's the difference?? We can discuss Greene on the DU board because he has a giant "D" after his name!
