Why does BP play that folksy guitar music with their propaganda commercials?
Because they know it works. BP thinks all Americans are idiots and don't know when we are being played for fools. That kind of shit just pisses me off to no end. First they destroy our Gulf and now they treat us all like American Idol watching fools.

Does that bother you?

Don

1. BP knows that the majority of Americans are programmed to salivate...
at commercials that use certain techniques. We are consumer animals and a majority can be driven by the right add campaign.

2. They did a study
And determined that that music appeals to you small people. Also, they found that you consider $643 a lot of money. So, {music starts playing} what do you say we begin settlement negotiations over your alleged losses which BP will admit no liability in causing, should there be any?

3. Target's doing it too
Playing 60's/70's-era hippy empowerment folk music on their back-to-school commercials -- while meanwhile handing GOP candidate Tom Emmers a check for $150,000 out the back door.

Does. Not. Compute.

4. I watch AI and I am nobody's fool. The commercial's music is rather obvious in its intent.

5. They also use actors that look and sound folksy like
they could be Gulf states natives. It pisses me off that they are spending all that money on commercials that should be going to the clean-up and to reimburse the people who have lost their jobs and their livelihoods.

Correctly.

Even most right-wingers aren't that stupid. Prove me wrong.

I mute ads, change channels, watch less and less TEEVEE.

It's only good if it's in a Mr. Tweek's coffee shop ad.

14. Any video out there for those without the tv's? I did hear that Target went Republican. That is,
their leader went overboard for the worst candidate ever. If you thought Michelle Bachmann was bad, wait to you hear what this guy says - running for Governor as a Republican - he's way beyond fiscal conservatism. I am repulsed that they would use folksy stuff - it they aren't careful the teabaggers will revolt and consider it hippie music.
