The Bush tax cuts were a very bad idea. Let's just get rid of them -- ALL of them.

4. The fugging tax cut bill sunsets
No need to repeal - the fugging Rethugs passed a bill that expires - let it fucking expire.

5. The justification for not letting them expire for the middle class and below is that we've
had a decade where, except for the wealthy, people's incomes have either stayed the same or declined while the costs of food, fuel, health care, college, etc. have gone up, up, up over the past decade.

6. Yeah. Good luck with that.
If I had a time machine to go back to 2001 before the taxcuts were made law, I could agree with you.

Actually, I kind of agree with you now, but you will have a real hard time convincing a teacher or an autoworker who makes $45,000 to pay more in taxes. Then we won't be able to have the debate about taxes that we want to have (that the rich should pay more) because the focus will be all about the mean old Obama raising taxes on working people.

And remember, it's not just the Bush taxcuts from 2001 that are due to expire, but also the Obama taxcuts from 2009.

13. Seems obvious, doesn't it? Too bad most Dems are either unwilling or unable to oppose our
corporate masters.

15. Oh, I know that
And, it'll never happen. But I think a lot of progressives who feel this way ought to be saying so. Otherwise, the president looks like he's on the "far left" of the issue, when he isn't,

12. I hope the GOP filibusters the attempt to preserve the cuts for those under $250,000

Then the Bush tax cuts expire.... the GOP gets the blame for "raising the taxes on the middle class".

Win-win.

14. Percentage wise the poorer get a higher tax increase if the tax cuts go away...
Lowest bracket goes from 10% to 15%, thats a 50% increase in taxes.

Highest bracket goes from 36% to 39%, much smaller tax increase.

16. Democrats are not 'Repealing' anything, Bush's cuts are "expiring"
as they were intended to do.
