Poll question: Has corporate Kumbayah approach of White House & Congress on legislation impressed you?
Obama has shown a pretty consistent pattern of taking the DLC, corporate friendly pattern most of the time, usually pressuring progressives to accept weaker legislation rather than pressuring corporate owned Democrats to accept stronger.

There is good in both the financial bill and the health care reform, but in both cases, use of the bully pulpit and some well-placed pressure on the blue dogs could have made it stronger, and in the case of the financial legislation in particular, averted the next disaster that much longer.

This approach has had some very vocal cheerleaders here, but I suspect the overall numbers of those who like doing business this way are small.

In addition, I wonder if their are any polls of Democrats asking not just if they are satisfied with Obama and Democrats legislation, but whether they think they have been progressive enough, too progressive, or too conciliatory to financial elite who have done so much damage to our and the world economy.

Is this approach and its cheerleaders winning you over?
