the democratic candidate for Texas Governor,Bill White,is simply...magnificent.he is a very straight-forward,approachable candidate who has some really great ideas to help Texas economy get back on track.

Subdivisions is a great guy...very well-informed and kind.He will hopefully be a grandpa in the next few days,so send him some good vibes.
All in all,a great turnout for a county with an 80% Republican population.

1. Bill White has an uphill, but winnable battle
Perry is so nuts, not to mention bad for our State, that even some Republicans have figured that out.

5. I hope a snowball effect takes place
Bill White called me a few weeks ago looking for contributions. I gave him what I could
and demanded coffee with him at the Statehouse with him if he became governor. He said
OK, and I hope to be able to hold him to it!!

13. I get the sense that Texans have grown weary of Perry and want a new governor. We
couldn't ask for a better candidate in Bill White. He has the experience as mayor of Houston to take him to the governor's office. He's really down to earth. I asked him to think of himself as our brother, our father, our uncle, our grandfather, our friend and do the things he knows are best for us and to always make his decisions with our best interests at heart and in mind. He was very gracious.

17. Your editor really likes Bill White. I could tell he was really
Edited on Sun Aug-01-10 12:27 AM by Subdivisions
enjoying himself and was especially impressed that Mr. White was doing an actual town-hall meeting in Waxahachie in 100+ heat. And I think he dug most of what Mr White said, as did the rest of us. Indeed, there was conversation afterward to the effect that a conservative or two that attended were impressed and that perhaps Bill's message could cross party lines and ensure a win.

We dare not rest on hopes alone. I'll be doing what I can to help this man get elected.

16. That's the impression I got of him, too.
Fingers crossed! Some friends of mine held a fundraiser for him at our mutual home in Dallas (I'm almost never there).
They liked him immensely, by the way.

7. Howdy neighbor! I'm so glad I went to the town hall today in Waxahachie. It was a pleasure to
meet you and Mr. Bill White today. Boy! Was it hot! But it wasn't so hot we couldn't spend a bit of our afternoon getting to know our nominee for governor. I feel he has a good spirit and I'm looking forward to his first term as governor of the Lone Star State! He told me today that he'll be here in Johnson County for the Alvarado Reunion next Monday night to ride in the parade. We go to the Reunion most every year so I'll probably see him again there.

Daughter is closer than ever tonight. Feeling pressure on top of her stomach and her mother is getting her stuff together (just in case) as I type. Could be tonight. Daughter's MIL thinks the baby will be here by noon tomorrow. We'll see. =) We're all excited. Daughter is soooo ready.

You're a sweetheart, w8. I'm glad we had this chance to meet, though our visit was all to brief. :bounce:
