Congratulations Chelsea and Marc. A photo of them together about a dozen + years ago.
I found this in a lineup of Chelsea photos, and I think it is too sweet not to pull out and feature.

I hope they have a long and happy life together.\

Sweet 16
A 16-year-old Chelsea Clinton sits with friend Marc Mezvinsky while watching a football game on the beach at Hilton Head Island, S.C., in December 1996. Mezvinsky is the son of former Iowa congressman Edward Mezvinsky and former Pennsylvania congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky -- and Chelsea's fiance in 2009.

1. His dad was my congressman many, many years ago.
Before all his trouble. When I first saw this pic, it reminded me of a much younger Ed Mezvinsky.

6. I worked to get him elected in and then worked in his Iowa City office
as a volunteer case manager. I liked him a lot. He even worked the campaign from my home with my girls while I worked the polls.

10. Not JUST the oligarchy, and it hasn't been at Hilton Head for 10 years
I was at the last one on Hilton Head, when Y2K passed with no incident.

It has been held in Charleston ever since, and plenty of non-oligarchy attends:

(I wonder where you apply for membership in the oligarchy? Are there forms at the Post Office?)

However, unlike Bubba, you will need a Ouija board to do so

12. EVERYONE there has a name tag, and NO titles
except ONE person--Ruth Westheimer is always "Dr. Ruth."

Even Justice Breyer of the Supreme Court is just "Steve Breyer." The whole point of Renaissance is to put
every attendee on an equal status, no matter who you are. As you can see in my other reply, this applies
to EVERYBODY, no matter how well known you are.

24. LOL!
Yes, they're EXACTLY like us.

Well, except for the 99.99% of us that would never be invited to Renaissance Weekend.

But aside from that, they're JUST like us!!!!11!

9. That is just so sweet...
There's nothing better than marrying your best friend. They grew up with each other,
grew to love each other and now they're spending the rest of their lives together.

That's really cool.

:)
