Remember also during the presidential debates all the careful softballs given to the madman. As far as I am concerned Tweety, Russert and the rest of them all have blood on their hands for allowing (actually helping) him to get into office. Just a few tough questions would have destroyed his chances IMO. I wish they would stand up now. Why are they soooo scared? I don't get it.

1. They genuinely think Gore would've been worse.
I'm not touching the issue, since things like 9/11 might have occured on anyone's watch, who knows.

2. No chance. None. No way.
Without Condoleezza Rice and Dick Cheney, it never, ever could have happened. Forget it.

5. I don't think it would have occurred had Al been president, either.

And, if it had, then those planes would have been shot out of the sky faster than you can say LIHOP.

6. I would say "thought" rather than think
as in past tense. In the early period after 911 that sentiment was often expressed. Then it was expressed as a question (as in - maybe?) showing more questioning per that previous conviction. Now? I get the sense that there is a lot of rewriting of that tired old sentment among many pundits.

7. I think their opinion of Bush has worsened
but I do not think their opinion of Gore has improved. That's just me - I don't have a mind reading machine, so it's complete guesswork.
