I also think Santa Claus is coming to dinner here tomorrow night, that Elvis will play the local theater next week, and that Charles Manson is fully repented.

I must say. I am astounded by the BRASS FUCKING BALLS the new BP chief has. Tony gets his fucking life back and this American born fuckwad comes on and tells us to suck seawater.

Good Fucking Kerist.

1. He's only saying it for one reason
Because he can, with zero repercussions.

2. Yes, but he's saying it with an American accent...
... and you know everyone's going to think THAT'S JUST DUCKY...

4. If it's bandied about the MSM enough...
... then it seems folks with an anti-environmental tendency (e.g. many conservatives and corporatists) will start to believe that letting BP off the hook a bit here and a bit there -- and, ultimately, everywhere -- sounds like the sensible thing to do. They're only one company, there's only so much they can do... right? How much must BP suffer??

6. Jesus, that makes me cringe...
However, your animation of Anthony Weiner is excellent!

8. It *is* cringeworthy.
It's weird -- I've been channeling right-wing spew all week. I wrote a post that sounded like Rush Limbaugh a couple days ago. Granted, I did it specifically to put the :sarcasm: tag on it... but still, it was like I could SO hear him spouting the words I was writing.

<shudder>

But thanks for the animation compliments! I did that just as soon as I watched his most excellent smackdown. :D

5. There's no real investigative journalism...
...any more. So we're left to wonder.

If the oil really gone? Or are there still giant blobs of it floating all over the place?

Or, did BP saturate the Gulf with so much Corexit--and that caused the oil to disperse and/or sink?

And if ginormous amounts of Corexit were used, what are the short- and long-term environmental
repercussions?

What about the fish? Are they safe to eat? You can damn well bet that when "the powers that be"
declare the Gulf safe for fishing--they'll roll it out in a big PR blitz bonanza. We'll see
those salty fishermen returning to their jobs with tears in their eyes--extolling the virtues of
BP and how amazingly fast everyone returned to work. But seriously...is the fish safe to eat?

Life is just a huge question mark when the companies control everything--including the media.

9. Meanwhile, Hayward has been exiled to Siberia. Hard labor and long, angsty novels,
and lichen sandwiches are all he'll ever produce from here on out.

:sarcasm:

How many reindeer does it take to pull a yacht on a sled?
