What would the charges against ARPAIO be if he denies Constitutional rights?
For example, "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Before the court decision was read, there were news reports he would be conducting arrests of demonstrators.

Now, it's bad enough to swallow "free speech zones," which, as these things go weirdly, were the result of protecting Choice clinics against violent anti-Choicers: Why aren't things like having to get a permit in order to demonstrate a restriction on assembly/petition? Why is that different from a poll tax on voting?

Would the charge against him be Official Oppression? Besides all the stuff he has already been doing for so long, like "cruel and unusual punishment."

2. Free speech violation?
Not sure but I hope someone nails this MF with something. He's been running his own little Facist county waaay too long. Long past time for sheriff joe to see justice from INSIDE a cell.

3. I'd like to see him try to arrest all the protesters.
Clog his jail so fast he wouldn't know what to do with all the real criminals.

Maybe that's what it would take to wake Arizonans up -- massive civil disobedience, dozens if not hundreds of protesters willing to go to jail to make a point.

As I said in another thread, if I wasn't fortunate enough to have a job right now I'd volunteer to go down there to join the protest, spend a couple weeks in the pokey if needs be to send a message. It would be uncomfortable, being housed outside in one of his tent cities, crowded with lots of unhappy inmates, but it would be worth it, I think. Get some card games going and make a fortnight out of it.
