1. Folks in Oregon have known that for 20 years

Scott Lively was the right-hand man for Lon Mabon of the Oregon Citizens Alliance, anti-gay crusaders responsible for Measure 9 in 1992 and Measure 13 in 1994. Lon finally went away, and Scott went fishing in other ponds for suckers to fund his demented world view.

First he went north to Washington, but didn’t have much luck peddling hate there. Then he went overseas to Europe. I think he was involved in some huckstering in Sweden or maybe Denmark, finally wearing out his welcome. It appears that he has struck gold (of a sort) in Uganda, and succeeded in getting his name in the papers once again. His warped view will eventually do him in there, too; I’m not sure if his Fundy mindset will allow him to go to a Muslim country, but I see him winding up in some incredibly repressive society like Yemen where he can indulge his peculiar hatreds for a while.

Scott Lively will come to a bad end.
