Ok, what the hell is the deal with MSNBC and 'Snooki'?

For days and days and days, MSNBC has been using this woman "Snooki" as their news-filler. Does anyone know what the connection between this "Snooki" and MSNBC is? She even rang the bell at the NYSE the other day.

Everytime I think the cable news, especially MSNBC, can't get any worse, they go and prove me wrong.

I'm guessing MSNBC/GE Networks found a survey saying Snooki is popular and when the word "Snooki" is said on televison it gets a "WTF?!!!!" from viewers and grabs their attention. And then someone post on a message forum asking what the hell is up with MSNBC and Snooki and it goes viral all over the web that MSNBC is saying "Snooki" and people all over the world tune in to MSNBC to hear "Snooki" thus driving up the ratings.

5. Jersey Shore is the latest stupid thing that lots of people are watching for some reason

"Snooki" is one of the dumber objects floating around in the pool of filth that is Jersey Shore. MSNBC is just trying to provide their viewers with the quantity of stupid that they seem to be demanding. If people refused to pay attention to stupid things, then TV networks would lose their incentive to provide access to stupid things.

Unfortunately, Jersey Shore and its "cast" will only disappear once the next big stupid thing lumbers into view. Then the next big stupid thing will ring the bell at the NYSE.
