Extremist Taunts His Victims From Prison

By JAY REEVES, Associated Press Writer

Monday, May 14, 2007

(05-14) 11:12 PDT Birmingham, Ala. (AP) --

Victims of Eric Rudolph, the anti-abortion extremist who pulled off a series
of bombings across the South, say he is taunting them from deep within the
nation's most secure federal prison, and authorities say there is little they
can do to stop him.

Rudolph, who was captured after a five-year manhunt and pleaded guilty in
deadly bombings at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and a Birmingham abortion
clinic, is serving life in prison at the "Supermax" penitentiary in Florence,
Colo.

Housed in the most secure part of the prison, he has no computer and little
contact with the outside world aside from writing letters.

But Rudolph's long essays have been posted on the Internet by a supporter
who maintains an Army of God Web site. The Army of God is the same loose-
knit group that Rudolph claimed to represent in letters sent after the blasts.

2. Fucking fundie terrorist
No different from the goddamn taliban.

They could do something...oh yes. The prison system most certainly could do something...but won't.

3. So this idiot has nothing to do except write letters??
Are there no license plates to stamp? Are there no toilets to clean with a toothbrush? Is there no filty underwear of the other inmates to wash (by hand)?

Someone needs to give this guy a real job.

8. Being in a supermax, he's probably in his cell 23 hours a day
I don't think the supermax prisons give jobs to inmates. They're not concerned with rehabilitation, just lockdown.

18. About "Alcatraz of the Rockies"
They spend up to 23 hours a day in soundproof cells, locked behind solid steel doors. They eat their meals in these 8-by-12-foot cells, where the desk, the stool, even the bed are made of concrete.

The only window -- 42 inches high and 4 inches wide -- looks out on a small recreation yard that prisoners might never get to...

the rest is archived and requires a fee to access...sorry...

5. Someone needs to point out to this moron that he will never see
a free day. I would deluge his ass with pictures of food, green areas of wilderness, animals he can't shoot anymore, happiness, balloons floating in a blue sky, hiking pictures, flowers, birds and bees, pie contest winners, you name it. The fucker is the loser. He'll never see a free day.

9. That's the 100,000 question
If he were an environmentalist who committed arson, I doubt AP would have any problem whatsoever with tossing the terrorist label around.

Nor I suspect, would the federal government have any problem going after his enabler(s).

12. No kidding.
Check this out from the article:

"A Justice Department report last fall criticized the prison for not properly screening inmate mail. It determined that three men convicted in the World Trade Center bombing were able to send dozens of letters overseas to suspected terrorists."

They stopped those guys from sending stuff out because it might lead to criminal acts. Why not stop Rudolph? He's actively attempting to incite hate against his victims and others.

This murderer and his buddy have free speech that allows them to terrorize innocent people, but just let someone post a threat against * and see what happens.

13. Brown people are terrorists. Caucasian people just have strongly-held opinions.
Opinions which occasionally motivate them to murder individual strangers
in an attempt to influence the actions of LARGE GROUPS of strangers who
hold opinions they disagree with, via the FEAR of potentially
being randomly murdered in the same way.

But that's not "terrorism".....because a white guy did it.
See how DIFFERENT it is when you take the time to break it down?

17. So his victims are reading the Army of God website????
Sounds to me like he's throwing it out there and no one is paying any godamned attention until the AP decides to give the guy a greater voice.

Let the idiot post his crap on a website. Who fucking cares. Ignore it already. AP and SFgate sucks for even publishing this crap
