People Powered Progressive Andrew Romanoff Sells His Home to Finance Campaign
Edited on Mon Jul-26-10 10:03 PM by liskddksil
Democratic Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff has sold his house to finance a last-minute campaign push against Sen. Michael Bennet.

Romanoff said he sold the home in Denver's Washington Park neighborhood for $360,000 and used the proceeds to loan his Senate campaign $325,000 in advance of the Aug. 10 primary
"When I get to the Senate I will continue to champion campaign finance reform so that Coloradans of modest means can win public office without selling their homes," he said.

Now thats what I call going all-in. He is the only candidate in the race who takes no corporate PAC money. In addition, Andrew supports single-payer health care, and the more immediate adoption of a public option. Lets give Andrew the support he deserves to win the primary and the general this fall.

1. I'm proud of him & will send him a few $$, but I have to ask. Was that his
only home? Obviously he has to live somewhere, and many if not all of the Senators have second homes.

No slam intended, just askin.

Bennet. I'm retired and could ony send him $10 but if we all do that, he will win!

but what some call desperation, I call bravery and cajones, qualities the Senate could sure use.

10. He's going all-in on this race, which may indicate he thinks he can win it.
Still, he's a prominent politician in Colorado - he was Speaker of the House in the state capitol, which means that if all else fails, he's likely to score a profitable lobbying or consulting gig, so he's not in any danger of being out on the street.

11. Probably the same crew that instantly unrecs any thread that questions
whether the so-called education reforms are actually good ideas.

14. And the same ones that thought Blanche Lincoln is the legitimate nominee in Artkansas
But Kendrick Meek in Florida is not.

17. Meeks still has a tough primary to get through
But whoever wins, they will be head and shoulders above Crist and Rubio.

13. Sounds shady.

Who sells a house this fast without listing it? Sounds like the "developer" who bought it basically made a donation to his campaign.

Pardon the guy who had to short-sale a home after listing it for 3.5 years for asking the obvious question. Cheerlead away!

18. If I lived in Colorado I'd vote for Romanoff in the primary
and for whichever candidate wins the primary against the Puke nom in the general.

Then I'd take a very long day's hike through the aspens in that astonishingly beautiful state.
