The Middle Class in America Is Radically Shrinking : Here Are the Stats to Prove it

The 22 statistics detailed here prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the middle class is being systematically wiped out of existence in America.

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer at a staggering rate. Once upon a time, the United States had the largest and most prosperous middle class in the history of the world, but now that is changing at a blinding pace.

So why are we witnessing such fundamental changes? Well, the globalism and "free trade" that our politicians and business leaders insisted would be so good for us have had some rather nasty side effects. It turns out that they didn't tell us that the "global economy" would mean that middle class American workers would eventually have to directly compete for jobs with people on the other side of the world where there is no minimum wage and very few regulations. The big global corporations have greatly benefited by exploiting third world labor pools over the last several decades, but middle class American workers have increasingly found things to be very tough.

Here are the statistics to prove it:

2. In the UK too
"Being middle class in Britain has changed. Gone are the days of job security, a good salary and regular foreign holidays. And the crisis of a generation is just beginning..."

4. How about Globalization and Trade Policy. U.S.A. living standards
being harmonized downward in an effort to equalize standards
of living around the world. Our Living Standards have been
so much higher than those around the world that we can no
longer compete. Because of higher salaries, it cost much
more to produce a product in US. How many countries can then
afford to buy our expensive products. In an effort to "right"
this situation our noble leaders decided to make us a Service
Economy. Sorry, Financial Inst. Jobs, Tourism and Retail
cannot keep this country afloat. We therefore have a disappearing
Middle Class which means a disappearing Democracy. People making
over 75K and especially the Billionaires have all the power.

5. I thought 75K was considered middle class these days.
I don't disagree with you in the factors you have delineated, but our middle class had a part in this too. We are a nation encouraged to conspicuous consumption as an expression of patriotism. AND we have some of our own on this side of the political divide to thank for it.

7. 75K is UPPPER Middle Class. As wages drop for the greater
majority this pulls the scale downward.

Also the real power is over 250,000. Politicians however
know or believe, they must keep the 75,000to 250,000 content.

I am amused when I hear Boehner or other Republicans say
"The American People do not like this--The American People
want us to repeal HC.--The American People blah blah blah.

When GOP says The American People, they are referring to
this group 75K and up. Natural Base.

EVEN the Tea Party ACTIVISTS are White Male better educated.

9. Yahoo page

I like to read the comments and even posted one. Unfortunately, it seems you get 20 responses per page, and there have been 7667 comments left so far. Mine was around 6500. To reach the end, you would have to mouse click the "next" hot-key 377 times to get there. And with each flip of the page the "next" is moved, which requires hunting and re-aiming the mouse again.

This also means that unless you are dogged, only the first 60 or 80 comments will ever get read. On other sites, they break the total number of posts into page icons, so if there's 40 pages, you can hit page 20 and immediately get to the middle.

Is there a navigation technique I don't know about over there?
