25 July 2010, DUBAI - An African national has been arrested on charges of allegedly practicing witchcraft by the Anti-Economic Crimes of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Major Salah Bu Osaiba, Director of Anti-Economic Crime, received information that an African claimed that he has the ability to use ‘jinn’ (genie) to cure patients and to solve financial problems as well as family disputes. The department set up a trap along with a police team to catch him red-handed.

After taking legal action and getting permission from the Dubai Public Prosecution, the police set up the trap and the undercover police met him in his flat in the Murraqabat area.
