Pence promises full-fledged GOP campaign to keep Bush tax cuts
By Darren Goode - 07/24/10 06:00 AM ET

Republicans Saturday promised a full-fledged campaign to make permanent a suite of expiring Bush-era tax cuts and accused President Obama and other Democratic leaders for not taking steps yet to prevent their sunset.

As part of a broader attack on Obama’s economic agenda, House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence of Indiana accused Democrats in the weekly GOP radio address of wanting to embrace an unprecedented tax hike.

“After 18 months of runaway spending, bailouts and takeovers, Washington Democrats are poised to allow the largest tax increase in American history to take effect next year," said Pence, the third highest ranking House Republican. “The American people know we can’t tax and spend and bail our way back to a growing economy."

Pence promised that “House Republicans will oppose this tax increase with everything we’ve got.”

He is referring to tax cuts established in 2001 under the Bush administration and GOP congressional rule that are set to expire at the end of the year. Obama and Democratic leaders have long said they intend to extend tax cuts affecting middle-class taxpayers who individually make less than $200,000 or couples who make less than $250,000.

Democrats have been looking, though, to delay extending tax cuts for wealthier individuals and couples.

1. Republicans opt for 'strategic default'
Just as so many irresponsible home owners have walked away from the sacred obligation of their mortgage payments, so are the Republicans promising to walk away from the debt they took on under Bush Jr.

3. TFB, assface, They're GOING to expire. DEAL with it.
Shit stupid initial idea, almost as phenomenally dumb as making them permanent.

Pence and his fellow Dumbpublicans need to explain something to all of us:

If taxing the rich is bad for bidness, and they want to lower taxes on everyone else even further, and businesses aren't hiring despite having the lowest top tax bracket in 75 years, which results in money NOT circulating in the economy but hoarded at the top of the wealth chain, and we've spiraled further and further into debt thanks to 28 years of Republicanomics and Republicans want to continue two wasteful wars all for the purpose of "finishin' the fight" . . .

WHERE did they honestly think the money would COME from to . . . you know . . . RUN THIS COUNTRY? WHERE? HOW DO YOU PAY THIS DEBT AND DEFICIT OFF???

Seriously, I'm all ears.

Floor's all yours . . . Mr. Nude.
