Poll question: What grade would you give Obama after 1 1/2 years? - Foreign Policy
What grade would you give President Obama after 1 1/2 years? - Foreign Policy

What 'Grade' would you give President Obama at the year and a half mark into his presidency? I've broken this poll up into two categories, domestic policy (HCR, DADT, Energy, etc...) and foreign policy (Iraq, Afghanistan, foreign relations).

Note: The second category is another poll.

FOREIGN POLICY:
A
B
C
D
F

3. I am sick of the right wing x-tian support for Israel.
They want to rebuild the temple and bring back Jesus. They really want Armageddon.

4. Is F- an option?
Cuz I'm not sure how much I appreciate funding renditions and drone attacks, just as a start.

5. If you were so kind to Obama's predecessor
to give HIM an F-Minus, then in all honestly you'd hace to give Obama at LEAST a "Gentleman' C"!

6. We don't grade on a curve
There are absolute minimum standards, pass or fail.

7. I gave his predecessor a "Not fit for the class"(especially since he was never elected)

And many on DU flamed me for calling the Bush Administration out for torture before it was fashionable.

Never did I once think that if we had a Democrat win the election that we'd still have ANY of Bush's policies still in place.

Silly me.

And no, C- to the Nobel Prize winner is not accurate. As the other poster said, we are not grading on a curve, nor on class popularity.

12. For clarification: bush failed the entrance exam & never made it to class
So he's ineligible to be graded. He wasn't elected in 2000.

8. A solid "F".
Mostly for the escalation of lost war in Afghanistan but also for the incursions into Pakistan, the mishandling of Iran, the continuing embargo of Cuba, his support of the coup in Honduras, the out of control "intelligence" agencies, the totally unnecessary expansion of the "defense" budget, his saber rattling provocation of China in relation to the sinking of the South Korean ship, and many more.

If Bush were doing the same things DU would be on fire with indignation.

I'm really having problems with this, personally.

Did people who spoke up against Bush really have no principles?

Maybe so, though. I remember arguing that Lyndi England and the others most likely DID get orders from further up to torture those people, and were being offered to cover higher ups...and getting massive pushback from here.

And what do you know? 2 women got thrown to the wolves, and no major investigation.

10. In this area, sadly, I don't see much of a difference from the standard rethug policies...
The nuclear treaty with Russia is one exception. Otherwise, we're still involved in 2 wars. We haven't really changed our policies regarding any other nations that I'm aware of. Talk with Israel is a bit harsher, but no progress is being made there. I hoped for much more.

11. Solid D. Same as on domestic.

At least, he.... shit, now I actually wish I'd given him a C instead.

Nuke disarmament is a huge one. Not nuking Iran is a huge one, for god's sakes! (Imagine McCain or Palin in his place?)
