Well, BP appears to have a sense of humor.
Most of you watch Countdown on your TVs. I don't have cable so I watch it online. Recently, MSNBC has started preceding the online segments of Countdown and The Rachel Maddow Show with short commercials.

Guess who sponsored online Countdown tonight? In every segment? Uh huh. BP.

1. Maybe they think that people will perceive this as a "he says - she says" story
if they intersperse their truthiness with the facts.

2. I was at a BP gas station the other day and it had a sign on the doors
reminding the populace something to the effect of "BP gas stations are locally owned and employ people from your city". It was longer than that, but was the general gist of it.

A bit of making people feel guilty for avoiding BP stations.
