Nominations for a new term to describe the Sherrod tactic?

You know, for the next time Breitbart, O'Keefe, et al comes out with a fake-ified, likely race-baiting video in an attempt to destroy some liberal, or Democrat, or woman, or person of color (or all of the above) and Fox leaps on it like a rabid ... fox or something, and within seconds, a person or institution is destroyed by a lie. The lie is later uncovered, but by then the public has moved on. Most people think ACORN really helped people set up an underaged brothel, for instance, and of course all of the debunking in the world can't bring it back. This is not entirely new, but they're definitely on a big kick here.

We already have "Swiftboating," and I think that's served well (although it obviously hasn't eliminated the practice entirely). It at least reminds everyone that there IS a history of organized, deliberately misleading and dishonest character assassination endemic to American rightwing operatives.

I am thinking specifically of these deceitfully crafted video hitjobs, like the ACORN piece, and now this thing with Ms. Sherrod.

seems to have lost all meaning. Everyone lies, it is suggested. Truth is just a matter of who yells the loudest.

But some lie more. Some base the majority of what they are doing on lying. On spin. On (as you suggest) propaganda.

I think rightwing race-baiting video-hitjob lying has become enough of a cottage industry to earn its own moniker.
