2. Very nice
So, Boehner is either lying about his brothers, or he's saying in a not-so-veiled way, "And fuck them, too."

4. Sure, he feels their pain.
But the issue is that he gets off on it because he's a sadist. ;-)

Though maybe to snarky and tongue in cheek - imagine the narrator says "Republicans do care about the unemployed, just ask Minority Leader Boehner, who has three unemployed Brothers -

then cut to that.

Followed by a comment that if the Republicans take the House, this man will be the Majority Leader.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even with 11 siblings, I find it hard to believe they are not in touch. ( I am one of 9 - my parents, siblings, and the next generation all hear from each other and about each other quite often. )

12. In all fairness, if you were his brother ...
... would you want to keep in contact with him?

It sounds like his three brothers are probably rational.

13. Dysfunctional family values:
“I’ve got real empathy for those who are unemployed, as most of you know I’ve got 11 brothers and sisters. I know that three of my brothers lost their jobs, I’m not sure whether they’ve found jobs, yet, so I’ve got a lot of empathy for those caught in this economic downturn,” Boehner said.

So the Orange Roughy does not know if his three brothers have found jobs yet, so he has "a lot of empathy" for those who don't?

Uhh, what??

Good thing for the unemployed that he doesn't know, because if they did find jobs, then anyone could and should, right, John???

"But he agrees with other Republicans that the cost of extending unemployment benefits should be offset with other spending cuts."

But it ABSOLUTELY won't involve cutting military spending, because the chicken-hawks in Congress will want to cut social services instead, and increasing military spending for the "war on terror" certainly helps accomplish their goals.

The US is sinking deeper and deeper into an ocean of trillion dollar red ink, by borrowing to spend money to defend itself from global terrorism, meanwhile much of the nation's citizenry is being attacked internally by conservative politicians and corporate capitalists, using free trade, the global economy, outsourcing and off-shoring as a means of domestic economic terrorism, which will ultimately turn most if not all of the formerly productive middle-class into homeless, jobless, unhealthy, and poverty-stricken peasants.
