If You're Unemployed, Why Would You Vote for Someone That Will Cut Off Your UE Benefits?
If you're unemployed and receiving benefits, you should be voting for the Democrats without exception nor excuse. To do otherwise is literally taking food off of your table.

You have no reason to not go to the polls, and you clearly know that the Republicans will stop any further extensions if they gain control of the congress.

It's simple. If you're UE, vote for the Democrats.

1. Because deep down
You think that your unemployment is a punishment from god for something that you've done, so you have to vote for the party your church tells you is the right one?

2. One Would Think That The Human Instinct for Survival
would trump any regilious guilt or any other emotions. We are literally talking about keeping food on the table here.

destroyed the American economy, and the Republicans are trying to save it by lowering the deficit.

If only the borders and/or homosexuals were better policed, you'd have a job.

(Ouch. Trying to think like them HURTS!)

5. Its not that simple
You may also consider who will be more likely to create jobs and get you off unemployment.

Vying for the unemployed demographic...are they 2010's "soccer mom"?

19. it's the other guy that's lazy, never you
A lot of people vote out of spite. You are right if you feel the government can't create you a job, the least you can do is punish all the lazy Americans that make it so hard for them. Republicans always assume when their leaders talk down to the working class, they mean the other guys. Not them I'm a hard working (or would be if they had a job) Republican, not a lazy Democrat. ETC... This mentality works on some people.

6. Because they're happy to be destitute so long as gays have no rights and minorities are worse off.
Seriously, that's about all I can think of.

These are the people who could have a nice home in a nice neighborhood and never worry about the future, but they can only have that if they might have gays or blacks for neighbors, so they'd rather choose poverty for themselves and live in a shithole because at least the blacks are going to live in places worse than shitholes, and gays won't have any rights.

They have to come out on top, even if it's on the bottom rung.

10. This actually could be a wedge issue.

I'm assuming we're talking about unemployed white males here as the most likely to vote this way. Even in this subgroup, I can't believe more than half would vote against their economic interests. Still, that's probably about 5% of the electorate, enough to swing elections in some districts...

Also, Bush gave us the Do-Not-Call List, which was the single greatest achievement of his 8 years in office.

Never mind that it was probably also used for the blanket wiretapping program.

16. I've been hearing less of that now. I know one poor guy who used to make that argument.
This was about 8 years ago...he's a mechanic in his dad's service garage. He's older now, still struggling to get through community college only now he's managed to father a child that he has to pay for. He's still doing oil changes and tune ups at his dad's garage with no benefits and divvying up what he, his dad, and his sister draw down from the business. His mother died from cancer in part because the family's health care was so limited.

This kid is no longer a kid and he's not going anywhere. I think he's wised up. I don't hear him talking about someday being rich himself...what a sad thing...

18. It should but the lottery mentality rules next week. Meaning eating today is important
but I might win the lottery next week and won't want to pay taxes to support the bums then.

It is not logical.

15. Republicans are betting that the unemployed are too lazy to vote.
Actually I just read a quote by a PA republican pol(Congressman Joe Pitts - a REAL liar!) stating that the UC extension bill would "glide through congress" if the DEMOCRATS would strip the excess spending from the pure UC bill(which seems to have been done)...so the GOP position is-how odd-blame the Democrats - for EVERYTHING!!!!!

Pitts also blames the unemployed for being unemployed...just to cover all the bases.

22. The pukes are doing this now in hope of making the dems look weak
especially our President. All they are doing is trying to win elections and in their twisted little crooked minds they think they can do that if they can make this the worst 4 years of our lives. They know that the majority of Americans aren't paying any attention, (something like only 25% vote) and have short memories. Right after the election in '08 the chin and boner too both said they were going to be the party of no and thats exactly what they've been. To them they see themselves at true to their word, never mind that their word is not good for the average person.

30. What makes you think they vote?
I suspect many are either too busy trying to survive or too beaten down by the struggle to try. And if you lose your house and become homeless, where do you register?

I think the Republicans have made the calculation that they can ignore the unemployed, so long as they get Faux, Limbaugh et al to keep enough deluded into voting against their own self interest. This is done by the tried and tested technique of making them fear that someone even less fortunate than themselves (particularly if they are non-white) might get a leg up on them.
